About the job

Do you want to lead a secretariat and at the same time be a close partner for the center management?

The position is newly created and gives you a unique opportunity to shape the development of an interdisciplinary management secretariat that collects competencies in management support, communication, work environment, safety and organizational development.

You will become an important collaboration partner for the center management in the work to strengthen leadership, cohesion and organizational development across the center.

We are looking for a team leader who can set direction, coherence and momentum, and who thrives in the tension between operations, development and leadership.

You will become the leader of a team of six employees – two chief secretaries as well as consultants within work environment, communication, safety, leadership support, development and organizational development.

You will be responsible for the overall leadership support of the center director, center management and department heads. At the same time, you will yourself bear responsibility for a range of tasks closely related to the center management, including leadership support, leader development and cross-cutting development initiatives.

Together with the staff in the secretariat, you must ensure that the center's leaders experience relevant, coordinated and qualified support for both daily operations and larger development initiatives.

You report to the administrative chief and gain a central position close to the center management, where you will be an important partner in both daily leadership support and the center's strategic development.

The position combines personnel management with own tasks and areas of responsibility. Since the position is newly established, you will have great opportunities to help shape the function.

The leadership tasks

You will become the leader of an interdisciplinary team with broad professional competencies and tasks within leadership support, communication, work environment, safety and development.

An important task will be to bring the staff's different competencies into play and create a common direction for the secretariat's work.

Your leadership tasks include, among other things

  • Prioritization, coordination and allocation of tasks
  • Professional sparring, well-being and skills development
  • Ensuring high quality and progress in the secretariat's deliverables
  • Development of the leadership secretariat's role and tasks in line with the center's needs
  • Development of workflows, processes and collaboration interfaces

Your professional tasks

You will also be responsible for your own tasks and processes, including

  • Close support of the center management in cross-cutting leadership processes
  • Planning and coordination of management meetings, seminars and common management forums
  • Support for the center's work with leadership development
  • Dialogue with leaders about the leadership task, leadership development and organizational challenges
  • Facilitation and coordination of organizational development and change processes
  • Contribution to the center's cross-cutting development tasks, including strengthening cohesion, leadership development and implementation of larger organizational changes
  • Support of the MED organization and the cooperation between management and employees
  • Preparation of decision proposals, memoranda and management materials
  • Coordination of cross-cutting projects and initiatives on behalf of the center management
  • Support of prioritized efforts within work environment, well-being, recruitment and retention

You must be able to move between leadership, operations and development and thrive in working closely with both management, employees and organizational processes.

We imagine that you

  • Have a relevant academic education
  • Have experience with management support in a larger organization
  • Have experience with personnel management or strong prerequisites to step into a leadership role

  • Are a visible and trust-building leader
  • Are strong relationally and thrive in collaboration with both leaders and employees
  • Can build support around common goals and priorities
  • Work independently and take responsibility for progress
  • Have a pragmatic approach to task solving and a focus on finding solutions
  • Experience from the healthcare system or another politically governed organization would be an advantage, but is not a requirement

We offer

We offer a position with great influence on both the daily task solving and the development of the leadership secretariat.

You will get

  • A central role close to the center management
  • An exciting combination of personnel management and your own professional areas of responsibility
  • Opportunity to shape the development of the center's leadership support
  • Responsibility for a dedicated and competent employee team
  • A high degree of autonomy and influence
