About the job
We are looking for a
colleague
with insight
in LCA in construction and with urban-strategic insight for the Buildings and Civil Engineering unit in the Climate, Environment and Technical Administration.
Do you want to make a real difference for the climate and urban development in Copenhagen and help realise the ambitions in the municipality's Climate Strategy 2035? Do you have competencies in low-climate-footprint construction and LCA and/or strategic urban development and climate actions? The Buildings and Civil Engineering Unit is seeking two new colleagues who, together with us, will drive projects and partnerships that contribute to achieving the climate goals for construction and infrastructure in Copenhagen.
About the job and your tasks
Position with focus on LCA in construction
The team is the secretariat for Copenhagen Climate Partnership for Construction, where we, among other things, work with how LCA data across buildings can create new insights into how the CO2 footprint from construction can be reduced. We are looking for a colleague who is a whiz at Excel and can contribute to the climate partnership by developing, collecting and communicating knowledge about construction with a focus on LCA and other data. Your tasks will include
- Further development of an LCA platform, including dissemination of data and results based on Excel and PowerBI
- Lead data-related projects and ensure progress and results in collaboration with others
- Create buy-in and strong relationships across the organisation and with partners in the climate partnership
- Contribute to the climate partnership in general – particularly with regard to communication, event hosting and other sub-projects under the partnership on e.g. construction practices, materials, economy, risk mapping, etc.

Position with focus on city-strategic development tasks
In the team we have project management for several projects under Climate Strategy 2035 with a focus on climate actions in construction. They range from a focus on densification and transformation of existing building stock, to the adaptation of the municipality's own permit handling to collaboration on reducing concrete in infrastructure and the transition to emission-free work machines. Our new colleague shall strengthen and develop efforts within these areas and contribute to cross-cutting, strategic projects and political servicing. Your tasks will include
- Support and develop the transformation agenda (including the pool ‘Plads til flere – i det eksisterende byggeri’) – read more at Plads til flere - i det eksisterende byggeri | Byfornyelsespuljer
- Drive and support projects on emission-free work machines, reuse of construction materials (with Team Circular Construction) and coordination and updating of the municipality's climate and environmental requirements for construction and infrastructure and reporting on Climate Strategy 2035
- Support collaboration and projects across disciplines, units and other administrations in the municipality – particularly to promote climate considerations in regulatory handling and collect professional input for wishes to develop relevant legal areas
- Respond to political inquiries and provide political servicing
About you
For both profiles, you work independently, structured and thrive in a cross-disciplinary environment with many interfaces in a politically governed organization and attention to the subject area. It is an advantage if you have experience working in a politically governed organization. Please indicate in your application whether you wish to be considered for one or both positions. In addition, we would like you to have the following.

- Good collaboration skills and the ability to build buy-in
- Knowledge of the construction industry
- Minimum three years of relevant experience (or two years with particularly relevant experience from the first job)
For the position focusing on city-strategic development tasks
- Experience with strategic urban development (e.g., building law, planning law, infrastructure, municipal planning)
- Political acumen and good organizational understanding
- Strong analytical competencies and the ability to connect agendas across sectors and the organization – especially in construction, urban development and regulatory handling
- Familiarity with and experience of the construction sector
- Experience with project management and ensuring progress in your own projects
- Minimum three years of relevant experience (or two years with particularly relevant experience from the first job)
About us
Both positions are in the Climate Actions in Construction Team, which is part of the Buildings and Civil Engineering Unit in the Climate Area, where we work to promote construction with a low climate footprint, develop innovative solutions and create good frameworks for collaboration across the municipality, other authorities and external partners. The Buildings and Civil Engineering Unit consists of 18 staff members distributed over two teams. The Climate Actions in Construction team comprises, besides the team leader, seven employees, with weekly team meetings and sparring across the team’s projects.
You will work together with about 400 dedicated colleagues in the Climate and Urban Development Division, all passionate about making Copenhagen an even better and more sustainable city to live, work and build in. The department has 17 professional units and a secretariat that, with a holistic view, curiosity and high professionalism, solves tasks within waste and resources, climate actions, urban planning, affordable housing, vulnerable city and analyses.
As a employee in Climate and Urban Development, you should be willing to engage in collaborations and projects that cross disciplines and professional backgrounds. We also have as a norm to do it properly – and we do it for Copenhagen.
