Team Leader who is passionate about employment initiatives

Are you a skilled leader who wants to work for a strong employment system, and can you set the direction in an employment system undergoing change? Then we have an exciting position for you as team leader in STAR West Denmark in Aalborg.

Important tasks for the Danish labor market STAR West Denmark plays an important role in translating reforms and agreements in the employment area into practice and thus support the development of the Danish labor market. You will become part of a close professional collaboration with colleagues across STAR offices in Brønderslev, Odense and Copenhagen.

STAR will be an open and welcoming agency in close dialogue with the outside world. You will therefore also have contact with our stakeholders and contribute to ensuring that relevant knowledge, experiences and good solutions are shared and put into play.

There are about 30 employees at STAR's office in Aalborg. The office plays a central role in the implementation of Ungeløftet (the Unemployed Lift) as well as the employment reform that was agreed in April 2025. STAR West Denmark contributes, among other things, through facilitating networks and events as well as the work with the new results follow-up for municipalities and unemployment benefit funds.

The office also has tasks within knowledge and data products, the alerting area, and servicing the regional employment councils. The office also runs STAR's national hotline and receives written inquiries from actors in the employment landscape. All of this is done in collaboration with STAR's regional office in Odense and other units in Haraldshus, Copenhagen.

In addition, the office contributes with case processing in the EEA area and supervision in the Danish airports. These tasks are carried out in conjunction with STAR Vest Denmark's other location, the Brønderslev office.

Strong in leadership and implementation You will have personnel management responsibility for a team of about 10-15 employees who in various ways work with implementation tasks and have contact with employment actors and other stakeholders.

You will help create a daily life where employees thrive, and an environment where they are challenged and developed.

Both the actor landscape and STAR are undergoing a transformation in connection with the employment reform, which sets new demands on the organization and the task solution. It also requires clear direction and leadership. You must have both the professional and managerial weight to engage in qualified dialogue with experienced leaders in municipalities, unemployment funds and other parts of the employment system. You must be able to listen, challenge and create a common direction as well as represent STAR with credibility and impact – even when the issues are complex and interests differ.

You will report to the Office Director, Liv Holm Andersen, and join the management of the Aalborg office together with her. Together with the Office Director and the Team Leader in Brønderslev, you form part of the leadership of STAR West Denmark.

A part of STAR and STAR's new role You will become part of STAR, a nationwide agency where we work with policy preparation, legal work, implementation, knowledge and digitalization in relation to the Danish labor market. We do this based on four ambitions that guide our organization and the way we solve tasks:

With the employment reform we have gained a new role: We must have less focus on process and more focus on results, dialogue and knowledge in our cooperation with municipalities, unemployment funds and other actors. Therefore, results, dialogue and knowledge are keywords for us nationwide.

Become our new chief colleague We imagine that you have an academic education (for example in economics, law or social sciences), and that you have experience with leadership. You have a good sense of strategy and governance, and you focus on recognizing, developing and motivating your employees.

Salary and employment terms The position is a permanent full-time position. We would like you to start as soon as possible or no later than February 1, 2027.

You will be employed as a chief consultant with personnel responsibility under the state academically oriented collective agreement. Your title will be team leader.
