About the job

Development Center for Children and Families (UBF) in Næstved Municipality is seeking pedagogues for our 24-hour units. We are looking for you who are educated as a pedagogue or have another relevant educational background and experience with vulnerable children. The most important is that you want to engage in a professional environment where relationships, care, reflection and development are central elements of the work.

With us you will have the opportunity to bring your professional and personal competences into play in the work with children who need adults who can create stability, security and new development opportunities.

Who are we?

UBF is part of Næstved Municipality’s overall special services for vulnerable children and youth. Our pedagogical and therapeutic work is based on a mentalization-based milieu-therapeutic approach. We are focused on understanding the child’s behavior, feelings and needs and on how we as adults can create frameworks that support the child’s development. We believe that development happens in relationships, and that this requires professional curiosity, perseverance and the ability to reflect on both the child’s and our own reactions.

At UBF’s 24-hour units we work with children of different ages and with different needs for care, support and treatment. Regardless of the child’s age and challenges we base our work on the individual child’s needs, resources and development opportunities. We are focused on creating meaning in what may be difficult, and maintaining faith in development – even when the work requires particular patience and collaborative professional effort.

Who are you?

We are looking for colleagues who want to join a professional community where we are curious about the children, each other and our own practice.

We imagine that you

  • Are educated as a pedagogue or have another relevant educational background and experience with vulnerable children.
  • Have an interest in relational work and in creating development for children with special needs.
  • Can meet children with care, clarity, structure and emotional availability.
  • Are curious about the child’s perspective and what lies behind the child’s behavior.
  • Can participate in close multidisciplinary collaboration with colleagues, parents and other partners.
  • Have a desire for professional reflection and to receive and apply supervision as part of your work.
  • Can contribute to written documentation and targeted treatment work.
  • Contribute to a safe and trusting work environment where we take shared responsibility.
  • Are stable and committed to the task.
  • Have a driving license.

Experience with mentalization-based milieu therapy is an advantage, but we also emphasize your motivation to learn and develop your competences.

If you have special interests or competences within, for example, play, music, song, nature, movement or activities with children and youth, we would like to hear about them.

What do we offer?

With us you become part of a dedicated professional community where we work purposefully to create development and change for the children.

We offer

  • A meaningful workplace where you can use your professional and personal competences.
  • A reflective work environment with room for professional discussions, curiosity and new perspectives.
  • Good opportunities for personal and professional development.
  • An engaged collegial community with high professionalism, good humor and responsibility.
  • A management that is focused on professional quality, employees’ development and job satisfaction.
  • An induction program with a dedicated mentor to help you settle well into the tasks and the work community.
  • A multi-year training and development program KURS with focus on mentalization-based milieu therapy, including treatment planning and organization.
  • Internal supervision to support reflection and development of the pedagogical practice.
