About the job
Do you want to develop future substance treatment in social psychiatry?
Orion is seeking a quality and development consultant part-time and a professional practice coordinator full-time
We are looking for two colleagues for a concrete task: to establish and anchor social substance treatment at Orion for people with complex mental disorders and substance issues.
Position 1 we are looking for a quality and development consultant with a relevant social or health professional education such as development nurse or social worker with a master's degree.
You will lead the development and implementation of substance treatment and the work towards approval under the Social Services Act § 101. The position is part-time (30 hours/week) and fixed-term for two years with possibility of extension.
Position 2 we are looking for a professional practice coordinator with a relevant social or health professional education at minimum bachelor level, for example as a pedagog, social worker, occupational therapist, physiotherapist or nurse. You will carry out individual substance treatment courses and strengthen staff's treatment professional practice through method guidance, teaching and sparring. The position is a permanent full-time position.
You will have different areas of responsibility and close collaboration to translate professional knowledge into treatment that makes a difference in the residents’ daily lives.
Who are we?
Orion is a highly specialized residential and rehabilitation facility for people with severe and complex mental disorders, often combined with substance problems and intense reaction patterns.
We work recovery-oriented with a basis in a systemic and harm-reduction approach. Our core task is in close collaboration with residents and day participants to create opportunities for an independent and meaningful everyday life with the greatest possible quality of life and self-determination. We believe that people can develop and recover, wholly or partly, even when life circumstances are complex. Therefore, we meet each person with respect, curiosity and a focus on resources, wishes and possibilities.
Orion is part of the Social Enterprise in the Capital Region of Denmark, which from January 1, 2027 will become part of the Region of East Denmark.
A joint development task with local anchoring
Orion shall develop and implement social substance treatment and is working toward approval under Social Services Act § 101. The work takes place in collaboration with the two other social-psychiatric residential facilities in the Social Enterprise. We develop a common professional direction with a focus on motivational interviewing (MI) and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), while ensuring that the treatment is adapted to the individual facility and its residents.
Competence development in substance treatment, psychiatry, MI and CBT is planned jointly. Both positions will have an active role in teaching, exchanging experiences and professional knowledge sharing across the facilities.
Position 1: Quality and Development Consultant for Establishing Social Substance Treatment - part-time, 30 hours per week - Fixed-term for two years with future extension
You are employed for a defined development and implementation task: to establish the professional and organizational framework for social substance treatment at Orion and drive the process toward approval under Social Services Act § 101. Your main task is to ensure that the treatment basis, workflows, documentation and competence development are coherent and translated into practice. You shall create structure and momentum in the project in close collaboration with management, the professional practice consultant and staff. Quality work, evaluation and documentation are an integrated part of this concrete task.
Your primary tasks
- Lead and coordinate the project toward approval for social substance treatment under Social Services Act § 101, including preparing application material, professional descriptions and documentation for the Social Inspection.
- Together with the principal, develop an implementation plan with clear goals, milestones, responsibilities and follow-up.
- Describe and develop the treatment basis with input from MI, CBT, recovery and harm reduction.
- Develop and quality-assure workflows, procedures and documentation practices for the substance treatment.
- Coordinate competence development and contribute to teaching and professional development courses.
- Monitor implementation through relevant audits, evaluations and systematic quality follow-up.
- Ensure handover and anchoring of the project results in day-to-day operations.
- Contribute to collaboration and knowledge sharing across the three social-psychiatric residential facilities.
Your professional profile

We emphasize that you have a relevant education or further education in substance treatment and strong competencies in MI and CBT. You work closely with both residents, day participants and staff.
You will carry out individual treatment courses yourself and help staff apply the methods through concrete guidance, peer coaching and joint reflection.
