Have you completed a residency in internal medicine: geriatrics and would you like to deepen your focus on geriatrics and assessment for memory disorders, then you are the one we are looking for.

The position includes outpatient work in the Memory Clinic, ward rounds and shifts.

The geriatric function

There are two geriatric ward units with their own chief physician and chief nurse, totaling 45 beds. In the outpatient clinic there is a fall clinic and an interdisciplinary Memory Clinic.

• The two ward units have slightly different profiles; one ward unit primarily handles broad general geriatrics, the other ward unit handles ortho-geriatrics in close collaboration with the orthopedic surgeons as well as general geriatrics. There is also a function in the Medical Acute Ward.
• The geriatric outpatient clinic conducts fall assessments in both Slagelse and Næstved. The geriatricians are also part of the Memory Clinic, a multidisciplinary clinic with close collaboration between neurologists, geriatricians, neuropsychologists and psychiatrists.
• The geriatricians provide geriatric supervision across the entire hospital.
• The geriatricians also participate in medical on-call coverage at Slagelse Hospital.
• Currently there are 2 senior consultants, 1 UAO and 3 consultants, one professor, 3 specialists as well as HU doctors, interns and KBU doctors.

Your tasks

In the ward units your primary task will be ward rounds and we expect you to participate in the on-call function as a hospital doctor with evening and night shifts every day of the week, as well as ward rounds on weekends. There will also be the possibility of outpatient function and/or function in the memory clinic depending on your competencies and interests.

About Medicine 3 and the Department of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy

The geriatric department is part of Medicine 3 and the Department of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. The department comprises both the neurology and geriatric specialties. Professionally, the specialties are separated, but collaboration is always at the forefront, e.g., with joint outpatient clinics and a multidisciplinary memory clinic. For resident doctors there is a shared on-call arrangement as house physician in the evenings and nights in geriatrics and neurology.

Starting salary for employees with an agreement

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of the base salary, centrally set allowances and pension in the relevant collective agreement.
