Investigation Leader – be part of analyzing and improving railway safety

Would you like to investigate railway accidents, incidents and other safety-related issues at Banedanmark?

As an investigation leader at Banedanmark you will be part of a team of six investigation leaders who are part of the Section for Rules & Incidents together with the team for Traffic Rules & Preparedness. You will also be part of the Safety Management area, which in addition to our investigations handles safety analyses, route overviews and audits, as well as the coordination of Banedanmark's management system and risk management.

The section's employees are distributed between Copenhagen and Fredericia, but the workplace for this position will be in Copenhagen at Carsten Niebuhrs Gade 43 right by Dybbølsbro Station. You should however expect 1-2 travel days per month to our other locations.

Focus on causes and measures

The core tasks in the position as investigation leader are to investigate safety-related incidents in collaboration with investigation shifts and employees in the respective areas in Banedanmark. We place great emphasis on uncovering direct and underlying causes of incidents as well as identifying trends so that we can implement preventive measures and corrective actions.

This includes collection and analysis of incident data, interviews, witness statements and conversations with the involved parties as well as the preparation of statements and investigation reports. At the accident site data will also be collected that you administratively must process and analyze. At times you will also have to go onto the track yourself and investigate further.

Analytical and able to communicate knowledge

In the position it is highly valued that you have a good knowledge of railways and safety rules in the railway sector. You may have a background from a railway safety education or alternatively you may have an academic education in analysis work, where you have gained experience in analyzing and processing data. In the role as investigation leader there is a strong emphasis on your ability to communicate your knowledge both in writing and orally.

Your place of service is Copenhagen, close to public transportation. Here you will become part of the Section for Rules & Incidents, which consists of investigation leaders (who follow up on incidents and accidents), rules case handlers (who maintain the traffic rules), graphics designers (who among other things maintain the route overviews) and emergency response staff (who coordinate the overall emergency response in Banedanmark).

Salary and employment

If you are an academic, you are employed under the then applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state.

You are classified on the basis of academic seniority and experience as an executive officer at base level or as a senior consultant according to the applicable collective agreement, which you find here and the Employee- and Competence Agency's salary overview, which you find here .

Depending on your qualifications and competences there is a possibility for negotiation of a supplement. There will be an employer-financed pension scheme of 18.07%.

Otherwise you are employed under the General Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations – The State Sector (OAO-S General Agreement) and the organizational agreement for office clerks, laboratory technicians and IT staff.

The position is as a rule placed in salary group 3, step 3 major city according to the applicable collective agreement, which you find here and the Employee- and Competence Agency's salary overview, which you find here .

Depending on your qualifications and competences there is a possibility for negotiation of a supplement. There will be an employer-financed pension scheme of 16% attached to the total salary.
