Experienced duty planner for Forensic Psychiatry R2 and R5

We are seeking an experienced and structured duty planner for two wards, R2 and R5, in Forensic Psychiatry at Aarhus University Hospital.

The position is 37 hours per week, where you as a rule will have two fixed working days at R2 and two working days at R5. You will play a central role in ensuring stable and sustainable duty planning for both wards in close cooperation with the respective ward management.

About the position

As a duty planner you will have an important role in the daily operations at R2 and R5. You must ensure that the duty rosters support appropriate staffing, efficient use of resources and continuity in patient treatment.

You will become a central partner for both ward management teams and must be able to navigate different needs, workflows and organizational frameworks. At the same time, you must have an eye for employees’ wishes and well-being and ensure that the duty planning complies with applicable working time rules, collective agreements and local agreements.

Your primary tasks will be

• development, maintenance and ongoing adjustment of duty rosters for R2 and R5.
• ensuring appropriate staffing and competence mix across shifts.
• planning and coordination of vacations, absence, courses and other activities.
• ensuring that the duty planning follows applicable working time rules, collective agreements and local agreements.
• supporting efficient resource use with focus on quality, work environment and economy.
• ongoing dialogue and coordination with employees and the two ward management teams.
• handling changes in staffing and solving acute planning challenges.
• contributing to the development and optimization of workflows within duty planning.
• supporting planning in connection with the introduction of new staff.

We expect that you have solid and documented experience with duty planning, preferably from the health sector or another organization with 24/7 staffing.

• have extensive knowledge of working time rules and collective agreement matters.

• can work independently and prioritize your tasks in a changing daily life.
• have good communication skills and can engage in a constructive dialogue with both employees and management.
• can create overview and coherence in duty planning across two wards.
• understand the relationship between staffing, competencies, economy and quality.
• are solution-oriented and keep an overview even when acute changes in staffing occur.
• enjoy responsibility and want to contribute actively to the development of duty planning.

Salary and employment terms

The position is 37 hours per week with expected start on December 1, 2026.

Salary and employment terms follow the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local pay formation.
