About the job

Do you want to help keep Thy running smoothly? We are looking for a road coordinator for asphalt and digging permits

Do you have an eye for good roads, an eye for detail and a desire to combine planning with supervision out in the field? Do you want to help ensure that asphalt and excavation work on the municipality's roads is carried out properly? Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for.

In Thisted Municipality we continuously work to maintain our roads so they are safe and functioning for citizens, businesses and visitors.

We are looking for an engaged colleague in Construction and Infrastructure, who will be responsible for the municipality's asphalt program and road marking as well as for excavation permits and supervision of restoration of road areas.

Your tasks – from planning to finished road

You will have an independent role, where you help decide where and when roads should be renovated, and where you follow the work all the way to delivery. At the same time you become a central contact person when digging in the municipality's roads.

Your tasks will include

  • Assess the condition of road surfaces and prioritise renovation work, including the use of RoSy.
  • Plan, coordinate and follow up on the municipality's asphalt program with focus on economy, time and quality.
  • Manage construction management and supervision of asphalt works from start to finish.
  • Plan and supervise road marking on the municipality's roads.
  • Supervise excavation works and ensure that the road areas are restored to the agreed quality.
  • Collaborate with contractors, utility companies, citizens and colleagues on good solutions.

The everyday life will be a good mix of planning at the desk, collaboration with others and supervision out on the roads. You will be responsible for your area of expertise and have colleagues to brainstorm with.

Who are you?

We imagine that you have a practical and technical background from the asphalt or construction industry, where you have gained experience with road maintenance, asphalt works or supervision. You may also be trained as a road engineer, road technician, construction surveyor or have another relevant technical education with an interest in the area.

You don't need to have worked in a municipality before. Experience with asphalt, road maintenance or excavation permits is an advantage, but we also value your practical understanding, independence and willingness to learn.

The most important thing is that you can create overview, take responsibility and ensure that the work is carried out properly.

We particularly emphasise that you

  • Have technical interest in roads, pavements and quality in execution.
  • Work in a structured way and can prioritise among many different tasks.
  • Can communicate clearly and properly – also when you have to impose requirements on others.
  • Thrive with both practical supervision and administrative case processing.
  • Take initiative and actively contribute to collaboration with colleagues and external parties.

Knowledge of RoSy, road regulations and authority work is a plus. You must have a driver's license for a car, as part of the work takes place on the municipality's roads.

What can we offer you?

With us you get a position with clear responsibility and visible results. You help ensure that the municipality's roads are well maintained and last for many years.

  • An independent professional area with responsibility for both asphalt program and excavation permits.
  • A varied everyday life with a good mix of office work and supervision out on the roads.
  • Opportunity to influence planning and prioritisation of road maintenance.
  • A professional community with sparring, collaboration and an informal tone.
  • Opportunity to develop your skills and make your mark on the tasks.

You will become part of Construction and Infrastructure in Thisted Municipality, where we help each other find sustainable solutions and get tasks well completed.

Does this sound like something for you?

We would love to hear from you! Tell us what you can contribute and why you want to help keep Thy running smoothly.
