About the job

We are looking for two social workers or social mediators for the position of children and youth adviser, where you work closely with children, young people and their families, collaborate across professions and at the same time handle the full authority responsibilities and the administrative tasks that come with it. So if it has captured your interest, the position as children and youth adviser in the Family Counseling may be something for you.

It is a position that requires professionalism, structure and the ability to collaborate across professions. In return, you will get a workplace with a strong collegial community, close professional sparring and a department that places emphasis on quality in case processing.

The positions are 37 hours per week with start on January 1, 2027 or by agreement.

One position is a permanent appointment and the other is a maternity cover.

About the Family Counseling and cross-disciplinary collaboration Cross-disciplinary collaboration is a natural part of everyday life in the Family Counseling. With us you are never alone with the task. We believe that the best solutions for children, young people and families are created in close cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Family Counseling is organized in seven school districts with corresponding kindergartens. As a child and youth adviser you will be attached to a district, where you will participate in a fixed cross-disciplinary team together with relevant professionals from, among others, PPR, family house and health visitors and other partners.

Every week you participate in a cross-disciplinary district meeting, where we share knowledge, qualify each other’s professional assessments and find common solutions with the child and the family at the center. The close cross-disciplinary organization creates a strong professional community, provides easy access to sparring and ensures that we can act early, coordinated and with high quality together.

We work with FIT We are in the process of implementing FIT (Feedback Informed Treatment) in authority work. Our contact persons and family therapists have worked with the method for several years, and now we are expanding to also include the adviser team. With FIT we ensure continuously that the interventions we initiate are helpful, and that we maintain a good collaboration with the youths and their families. Whether you have experience with FIT or not, you will become part of the shared implementation journey.

About the position As a child and youth adviser you will be responsible for your own caseload of about 20-28 cases. The number varies at times depending on the complexity of the cases and the total amount of work. You will have great autonomy in task solving, while you become part of a professionally strong team where sparring and knowledge sharing are a natural part of everyday life.

You will work under the Child Act and handle the full authority task from the first worry arises until the right intervention is initiated and followed up. Your tasks include, among others:

  • Handling notifications as well as preparing screenings and assessments.
  • Conducting child-related assessments.
  • Visitation to preventive interventions and initiation of placements when necessary.
  • Ongoing follow-up on interventions with a focus on the child’s or the young person’s development, well-being and needs.
  • Documentation and authority work in DUBU.

An important part of the job is administrative case processing. We place a high emphasis on high professional quality, and we see thorough, timely and well-structured documentation as a prerequisite for both the child’s legal protection, a solid professional basis and a good collaboration with families and other partners. Therefore we prioritize the documentation work highly and support each other in delivering a high professional level.

What we expect from you? We imagine that you are educated as a social worker or as a social mediator and are motivated to make a real difference for children, young people and their families.

Additionally, we would like you to

  • Work in a structured way and have an eye for both quality, progress and overview in your cases.
  • Communicate clearly, respectfully and precisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Meet children, young people, families and their networks with curiosity, recognition and high professionalism, even when they are in complex or vulnerable life situations.
  • Thrive in cross-disciplinary collaboration and actively contribute to good solutions together with colleagues, management and partners.
  • Be able to plan, structure and facilitate meetings so that all relevant perspectives are included, and clear direction is created.
  • Be proactive, responsible and reliable and actively take responsibility for contact with children, young people, families and partners.
  • Contribute positively to the community and wish to be part of a workplace where we help each other, share knowledge and focus on both professional development and job satisfaction.

If you are newly graduated, you are also very welcome to apply. We prioritize a thorough introduction to the work and adapt your onboarding process so you get a safe and good start. From day one you will be connected to an experienced mentor who supports your professional development and helps you settle well into the role as child and youth adviser.

Therefore you should choose us We know that high professional quality is created through a good working environment, strong colleagues and a leadership that is close. Therefore you get with us the best framework to develop yourself both professionally and personally.

With us you get

  • A thorough introduction to the job with a structured onboarding process and an experienced mentor who helps you from the start.
  • A close team leader who prioritizes professional sparring, weekly case discussions and ongoing dialogue about your development.
  • A strong professional community with dedicated child and youth advisers, where knowledge sharing, sparring and helpfulness are a natural part of everyday life.
  • Close cross-disciplinary collaboration with schools, kindergartens, PPR and other partners, because we believe that the best solutions are created together.
