We are looking for 2 knowledge and development consultants for the highly specialized social and special education field, to Synscenter Refsnæs’ Knowledge and Development

Do you want to work with knowledge and development in the specialized social and special education field? Are you passionate about developing knowledge that can be translated into practice and create value for children, young people and adults with severe visual impairment?

Then you may be one of the two knowledge and development consultants we are seeking for Synscenter Refsnæs Knowledge and Development Unit (VUE).

We are seeking a knowledge and development consultant for a permanent full-time position as well as a maternity leave cover, both starting 1 December 2026.

Your role

As a knowledge and development consultant you will be part of Synscenter Refsnæs, the national specialist educational resource and knowledge center for children and young people with severe visual impairment.

You will be part of VUE, which is organized under the center management at Synscenter Refsnæs. VUE consists of four employees, each with their own professional areas of responsibility, who collaborate across disciplines when it strengthens task execution.

You will report to a manager from the center management

As part of VUE you help support development, knowledge work and cross-cutting initiatives across Synscenter Refsnæs and the entire country. You will have a broad collaborative network in a nationwide perspective and work closely with many different professional groups. Interdisciplinary collaboration is a significant part of our culture.

Your tasks may include

• Collection, description and translation of new knowledge
• Development and maintenance of professional materials
• Dissemination of knowledge through presentations and talks
• Facilitation of professional networks and development activities
• Advising management and staff on professional matters
• Participation in and lead of development and project tasks
• Contributing to external collaborations, networks and potential foundation and development projects, including administrative support

We see professional development and relevant education and development opportunities as a natural part of the position.

We imagine that you

Have a relevant master's degree or a professional bachelor’s degree with relevant further education.

In addition, we would like you to have experience from the specialized social and special education field or from relevant public authorities and organizations or the disability sector, the Danish Agency for Housing and Social Affairs, region, a knowledge center or other relevant public organization.

Terms of employment

Starting salary for employees under a collective agreement

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base salary, centrally set allowances and pension under the relevant collective agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated supplements depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.

Synscenter Refsnæs is the national specialist educational resource and knowledge center for children and young people with visual impairment, including blindness. Children and young people who are registered in the Syns register or who meet the criteria can use the services. The target group also includes children and young people with additional functional impairments including blindness.

Synscenter Refsnæs is a highly specialized service that works knowledge-based and multidisciplinary with development, learning, well-being and citizenship for the target group in nationwide collaboration.

The services include knowledge work, specialist counseling and guidance, individual diagnostics, courses and group programs, material production, school, after-school care, STU and residential care.
