About the job

We are looking for the right academically strong pedagogues for Huset. Perhaps now is the right time for you to apply for a new and meaningful job.

With us you get the opportunity to make a real difference for vulnerable children and youth – in a professionally ambitious environment where relationships, development and collaboration are at the core of our work.

Who are we?

Huset is a preventive child and family-acting day facility for up to 15 children with foster-care backgrounds aged 6–15 years. The team consists of 6 pedagogues and 1

department head.

We are part of the Development Center for Children and Families (UBF), which houses Huset, the foster care, 3 24-hour departments and Skolen ved Åsen – and is part of the Municipality of Næstved’s overall effort for vulnerable children and youth.

We are located at Ågade 7a, 4700 Næstved.

About the target group and the task

The target group is children and youths with relationship and attachment disorders who need social-pedagogical and therapeutic support during daytime and evening hours.

Several of the children are fostered. Our work can be decisive as to whether the child can stay at home or return to the home. We work purposefully to create stability, development and safe relationships – both around the child and in the family.

The work includes among other things

  • Close relational work with the child/young person
  • Structure, predictability and developmental support in everyday life
  • Collaboration with parents aimed at strengthening their caregiving competencies
  • Support for basic caregiving tasks and everyday skills
  • Collaboration with school and other partners

The aim is to prevent more intrusive measures and to create changes together with the child and the family.

We are looking for someone who

  • Is educated as a pedagogue
  • Has experience with – or strong interest in – working with vulnerable children and families
  • Can work in a structured way while maintaining calm and overview in complex situations
  • Thrives in close team collaboration
  • Has humor, warmth and professional strength

With us you become part of a committed staff group where we prioritize professional development, supervision and a working environment characterized by openness, energy and collegial support.

Our work with parents is

Compensating and guiding support so that resources can be established over time to re-enter the parent role on several or all parameters. This includes, among other things, ensuring the children's health and personal hygiene, support for age-appropriate development and skills, appropriate clothing corresponding to the season, bedtimes, participation in school and home cooperation, homework, cooking, etc.

The development-oriented and pedagogical reference framework is

  • Mentalization-based environmental therapy.
  • To understand the child/young person from a developmental psychology approach.
  • To understand and relate to attachment theories and knowledge about relational disorders.
  • To work with an affirming, mentalizing and resource-building approach in the pedagogical work.

We are seeking a pedagogue who can and will

  • Work development-oriented and dynamically
  • Communicate both in writing and verbally with social workers, parents and other partners
  • Work independently and based on given goals
  • Ride in and collect children in the house’s cars
  • Perform practical tasks in Huset for children and families
  • Work to support children and youths in participating in community offers: sports activities, Scouts, music or similar social communities.

We offer

  • An workplace where collaboration, job satisfaction and wellbeing are in focus
  • A professional focus, with internal training
  • Mentor scheme
  • An workplace with 6 engaged colleagues
  • Good opportunities for professional and personal development
  • Influence and responsibility in daily work.

It is expected that applicants have experience working with the target group.

Only applicants with pedagogical or similarly relevant education will be considered.

Since there is a fair amount of driving, it will be a prerequisite that applicants have a driving license.

Working hours

Since the children are not in Huset in the morning, but after finishing school and day care, working hours will be planned with some morning time and afternoon and evening work. Two days a week, work extends until 7:30 PM.

We know that working hours are crucial for applicants’ need to reconcile private life and work life.

Please feel free to ring the department head Jesper to hear more or see an example of the work plan on our website.
