About the job

About the department

Children and Young People, AUH is a university department that treats children and adolescents aged 0-17 years. We are one of the country’s largest pediatric departments with 71 beds, 6,500 admissions and more than 27,000 outpatient visits annually. The Department of Children and Young People encompasses 15 pediatric subspecialties, where one or more highly specialized functions are provided within each specialty. The department is organized into three inpatient wards, one clinic, and an acute pediatric reception.

In addition, the department includes children and adolescents with surgical problems, where the treatment responsibility lies with the surgical specialties. The medical staff consists of about 60 specialists; 1 chief physician, 6 senior consultants, 29 consultants, 4 professors, as well as 27 department physicians and 30 residents (general practice, clinical genetics and pediatrics). We have four on-call shifts in the department: backup duty, intermediate duty, main duty, and neonatal duty.

About the positions

As an introductory pediatrician at AUH you will be able to gain the necessary competencies to apply for further specialization in pediatrics.

We place a high priority on education and have an experienced corps of mentors as well as an education team consisting of two UALOs and two UKYLs, who ensure that you receive a thorough introductory program, the opportunity to participate in the department’s structured teaching program, and that you gain experience and familiarity with all parts of pediatrics by working in the emergency department, the inpatient wards, and the outpatient clinics (including about once a month in our outpatient clinic in Horsens).

As an introductory physician you will join the on-call team with a two-shift pattern from the place of service.
