Atuarfik Ilasiaq is seeking a dedicated social worker. We offer a good and pleasant workplace. It is a school with two departments, one is affiliated with Atuarfik Samuel Kleinschmidt and the other is located close to Nuussuup Atuarfia.

The office is located at Atuarfik Ilasiaq, near Nuussuup Atuarfia. You will work as a social worker in the school which is divided into two departments.

Students at Atuarfik Ilasiaq have special needs and for various reasons cannot receive instruction in regular classes. Atuarfik Ilasiaq is a well-organized school that takes into account that all students get a good outcome from the instruction that is planned according to their individual needs, and here one works to meet the students' learning and development needs.

The school has about 60 students and about 52 staff members. They are distributed across the two departments of the school.

The appointed social worker will distribute their work between the two departments.

Position contents

As the school's social worker you will coordinate the social work for the students. Some of your tasks will include student and parent inquiries. Conduct student interviews and partly conduct parent interviews. Teachers may need advice and guidance about students.

·School and parent collaboration

·Being the contact person for the student regarding social work tasks

·Being able to advise and guide teachers regarding students

·Conduct ongoing conversations with students in cooperation with parents

·Help in creating action plans related to social work tasks

·Help in promoting prevention, including prevention of bullying

·Collaboration with external partners, MISI, Peqqik also in relation to prevention

·Collaboration with guidance teachers

·Work closely with the leaders

·Lead and hold network meetings

·Collaborate on emergency preparedness

Criminal record and Child Care Registry

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal record and child care registry. According to the law, employment may only commence when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal record and child care registry. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed when the municipality has received the child care registry from the National Police and the criminal record from the Police.

The child care registry is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, where the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the current collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the negotiating organization concerned.

The employment will be with a 3-month probationary period.

Housing

For the position, housing for staff can be allocated, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the applicable rules for rent payments in the Government of Greenland's and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately at the start, temporary vacant housing will be offered to employees with the right to vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. are paid as above. The start date depends on when a staff housing is available. A relocation travel allowance and household goods move are provided according to the applicable rules.
