We work with a clear focus on creating new knowledge and developing solutions that are important for public health. Our research includes both basic and applied research, and we share the ambition to create knowledge and better health for everyone. We place emphasis on thoroughness and quality in all aspects of our activities and on conducting innovative research that is translated into high-quality teaching.
Our teaching includes public health science, sports science, health science, nursing science, related methodological disciplines and medicine.
With respect for the scientific disciplines we prioritize interdisciplinary collaboration that strengthens research, education and innovation. And we work in a shared commitment to create a healthy and inclusive workplace characterized by open dialogue, mutual respect and an informal tone. We believe that well-being and academic excellence are prerequisites for each other, and that both are essential for our long-term success. You can read more about the institute here and about the faculty here.
Your tasks
Your primary tasks are related to the education area with a particular focus on supporting the development and delivery of teaching in general medicine with base in SUND+ in Herning. You can read more about SUND+ here. You will become a coordinating link between activities in Aarhus, SUND+ in Herning and at the Regions Hospital in Gødstrup, and you should expect to be present in the SUND+ building 2-3 days a week, varying in periods.
You will also take on a coordinating role in the collaboration with SUND Studier as well as employees and students from VIA University College (VIA) in SUND+. Your tasks thus encompass both development and operations, and you will be part of a professional, strong administrative environment. You will work closely with the institute's management, other colleagues and partners.
Your primary tasks
- Educational development and operations related to the SUND+ partnership, including collaboration with VIA staff and students
- Support of relevant meeting activities related to education, general medicine and SUND+
- Coordination across the locations Aarhus University, SUND+ and Regions Hospital in Gødstrup
- Planning in connection with projects within general medicine and residency in general practice
- Contribute to developing and streamlining administrative workflows and coordination
You create overview, and have a sense for detail in task solving as well as practical implementation of research-based teaching. You work structurally, execute and follow up, and do so in collaboration with administrative colleagues, scientific staff and the partnership circle in SUND+. The exact portfolio of tasks can be adjusted to some extent to your competences and experience. You report to the Secretariat Manager at the Institute of Public Health.
Your competences
We imagine that you have a relevant academic education, e.g., cand.scient.pol., cand.oecon., cand.scient.san., cand.merc. or similar. You have experience with and interest in supporting strategic initiatives, and can translate strategic goals into actions and processes. In addition you possess strong analytical competences, have good organizational understanding and good written and spoken communication skills in both Danish and English.
Experience with secretarial support and meeting preparation is an advantage, just as experience from public administration, preferably within the education or health sector, will be a strength.
As a person you work in a structured and responsible manner and have a natural ability to create overview, even when tasks are diverse. You take initiative, work independently and are solution-oriented in your approach to tasks. At the same time you are a strong team player who can build good relations across organizational levels and professional environments. You are flexible and thrive with a workday that includes both new challenges and recurring administrative tasks. Finally you have an interest in and desire to work in a dynamic research and education environment.
