Agile PMO Manager for Portfolio Management

An organization moving towards something new

Sundhedsdatastyrelsen will from 2027 become part of Digital Sundhed Danmark together with sundhed.dk, MedCom and a number of common national IT tasks from the regions. Digital Sundhed Danmark will be a nationwide organization that should strengthen the digital development and ensure better coherence in the health service.

The organization must ensure a common direction, better use of health data and development of digital solutions that support citizens and health professionals across the country. The establishment means new colleagues, collaborations and opportunities in a strong professional community.

About Portfolio and supplier collaboration

You will become part of the Portfolio and supplier collaboration section in the Strategy and Development department, where we are responsible for portfolio management, supplier collaboration and a common operations and development model.

You will join the Agile Portfolio team, which consists of eight colleagues with strong competencies in PMO and coaching in agile methods. Right now we are focused on implementing a common, agile portfolio model that makes it possible to prioritize both locally and, to an even greater extent, at a strategic level across the entire organization.

Your day-to-day with us

Your role will be to act as the link between the portfolio, the professional departments, development teams and the management.

You combine classical PMO discipline – overview, economics, reporting and governance – with agile principles such as value-based prioritization, short feedback loops and transparency.

Your primary tasks

You will become PMO partner for one or more departments and their daily sparring partner on prioritization, progress and portfolio management.

You facilitate the portfolio process from intake to completion and help further develop it.

A large part of your day-to-day revolves around anchoring the operating and development model at the portfolio level.

At the same time you coach and teach leaders, product owners and teams in the portfolio model, agile methods and effective use of the supporting systems.

You lead in maturing our PMO practice and are a professional sparring partner for colleagues and managers.

As a senior consultant you advise management, lead the development of our agile portfolio model and are a professional sparring partner in the team.

Your education, experience and personal qualifications

We imagine that you have a relevant higher education degree and several years of experience with PMO, portfolio or program management – preferably from a larger public or IT-heavy organization.

It is crucial for success in the position that you have experience or familiarity with both PMO professionalism and agile ways of working.

You have practical experience with agile methods and know how agile principles are used at portfolio level. You have a knack for numbers and finance and can translate data into clear reporting and good decision-making grounds.

You have experience in coaching, facilitating and teaching. For a position at senior consultant level you also have documented experience in developing and implementing PMO or portfolio models and in advising at management level. It is advantageous if you have a certification in project-, portfolio- or agile management and know tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.

As a person you are structured, curious and solution-oriented. You easily build relationships – also across locations – and actively contribute to the team's common flow and improvements.

You will have a fixed workplace in Aalborg and occasionally travel between Digital Health Denmark's locations for meetings. You should expect to spend one workday per week in Copenhagen. In Aalborg we are located in newly built and modern premises in NOVI MEDI PARK in Aalborg with free parking and easy access to public transport.

The social life is highly valued, and we have an active staff association with a number of clubs such as running club and wine club.

We do not operate as top earners, but we protect our working time, and generally do not expect you to work more than agreed in your contract. There is the possibility to arrange home working, but we also value presence with colleagues highly, because it provides better conditions for professional sparring, knowledge sharing and collaboration.

About the employment

Employment and remuneration are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement for the education you hold.

As an academic, you are covered by the Academic Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and academics in the State. Depending on your qualifications, the appointment will be as administrator, senior consultant or chief consultant.
