About the job

Rare opportunity for both psychologists and social workers to apply for a permanent position in OPUS, as two of our skilled colleagues are moving on to another role and retirement respectively. It is OPUS N that is looking for two new colleagues for the skilled, socially inclusive and engaged OPUS team.

Now there is a possibility to become part of the dynamic and professionally evolving community in the attractive premises at Lersø Parkallé, which offers a good learning environment for both newer and more experienced staff. OPUS- Psychiatric Center Copenhagen is now gathered in one building with 4 autonomous teams.

What is OPUS?

OPUS is a 2-year interdisciplinary, outpatient treatment program for young adults with first-episode psychosis. The treatment is based on cognitive-behavioral therapy.

The multidisciplinary OPUS N team consists of a medical specialist in psychiatry, psychologists, nurses, an occupational therapist, and a social worker. It is a team characterized by high professionalism, a good and engaged environment, and exceptionally good collaboration.

What will you do?

As with other professional groups in OPUS, the primary task for both the psychologist and the social worker in an OPUS team is to work as the primary therapist (contact person).

Much of the primary therapist work is talk-based and relationship-oriented, but the primary therapist role also has a coordinating function in relation to the management and planning of the 2-year treatment course, including cooperation with internal treatment offerings, inpatient wards at the Psychiatric Center Copenhagen, and external partners (e.g., Job Center, Social Administration and social-psychiatric services).

There is an assertive approach with responsibility for maintaining contact, and contact with patients can also take place as home visits. Great emphasis is placed on involving relatives, who are invited to conversations, education and participation in multi-family groups.

In addition to the primary therapist function, everyone in the OPUS house participates in education and group offerings for patients and relatives.

For psychologists, there is additionally a task of conducting initial assessments of newly referred patients and diagnostic tasks. In addition to their own primary therapist pathways, there is, as a psychologist, the opportunity for individually defined psychotherapeutic pathways with patients in the team.

As a psychologist at the Psychiatric Center Copenhagen, you become part of a large professional community across departments and functions, with opportunities to participate in/receive supervision, monofield supervision, carry out supervision tasks, etc.

What are our expectations of you?

You are educated either as a psychologist or as a social worker, and we would ideally expect;

  • Psychiatric experience and interest in working with severe mental disorders
  • Preferably experience from outpatient psychiatry
  • For psychologists; preferably experience with psychological testing and assessment
  • Social engagement and professional enthusiasm for therapeutic conversation.
  • Participation in OPUS group offerings (including psychoeducation and social skills training)
  • Cognitive-behavioral therapy training or interest
  • Willingness and ability to work both independently and flexibly and to engage in close interdisciplinary collaboration with other professional groups

What do we offer you?

  • An open and developing professional and collegial community
  • A thorough introduction to the work and the OPUS concept
  • A varied workday with large opportunities for independent planning of one's own workday
  • All contact persons have their own office
  • Opportunity to undertake a wide range of both cross-disciplinary and mono-disciplinary tasks
  • Regular supervision in the team
  • For psychologists; opportunity for training and supervision in psychological testing and monthly in-house psychologist meetings with the house’s specialist psychologist and participation of the chief psychologist at PCK
  • Opportunity for 1-year training in CAT-psychosis for interdisciplinary contact persons + courses in Social Skills Training, Fewer-Family Groups etc.
  • An OPUS house focused on education, competence development, connection to research and a generally high level of professionalism
  • Easy access to and sparring with OPUS management and colleagues in the house
  • Specialists in all teams
  • Opportunity for supervision tasks across PCK

Qualification for integrated dual diagnosis treatment

In the Capital Region, a new integrated treatment offer for patients with dual diagnoses (mental illness and concurrent substance use problems) is currently being implemented. This is also a task in OPUS and provides a special opportunity to further develop and challenge yourself professionally. The tasks in the new treatment offer will be carried out together, and there will be a qualification of all employees during this process, which you can look forward to.
