Fixed night shift position at K3 – gastroenterology and liver medical ward, Bispebjerg Hospital

We are seeking an engaged nurse for a fixed night shift position in our gastrointestinal and liver ward.

The night shift has a unique significance. It is here that calm, security and continuity for the patients are created, and where clinical assessment, professional overview and independent responsibility come into play in particular.

Who are we?

K3 is a medical ward for gastroenterology and liver diseases with 20 beds, of which three are semi-intensive places for patients who require close observation and advanced nursing.

We treat patients with complex gastrointestinal and liver diseases, and nursing ranges from basic care to advanced observation and treatment. It provides an exciting and varied clinical environment with good opportunities for professional development.

We are part of Abdominal Center K at Bispebjerg Hospital, where we work closely with surgical departments, outpatient clinics, endoscopy units and operating rooms.

We also have both day hospital and liver rehabilitation clinic, where nurses from K3 run independent patient pathways.

In recent years we have worked purposefully to create a good working environment, also during night shifts. This means, among other things, that we focus on limiting unnecessary practical tasks at night and creating good conditions for recovery during the shift when tasks allow it.

Staffing in night shifts

At night we are typically 2-3 nurses present in the ward. We work closely together on the patients, help each other across tasks and continuously prioritise professional sparring. In addition, there are good opportunities to draw on colleagues from the other bed wards in the abdominal center K when needed.

You start with an introductory program, where during the first eight weeks you will be outside the staffing norm. In the introduction period you should expect shifts in day, evening and night shifts, so you gain solid knowledge of the patient group, workflows and the ward.

Your pay and employment terms Licensed health personnel with patient contact who were educated in another EU/EEA country than Denmark must, when employed in the Capital Region of Denmark, meet the Danish language competence requirement* in Danish. *Licensed health personnel with patient contact who were educated in another EU/EEA country than Denmark must, upon employment in the Capital Region of Denmark, have passed a Danish test (Danish Training 3, corresponding to the 9th grade final exam) or at minimum be able to pass the test within 1 year of employment, or have obtained equivalent Danish language competences in another way.

The Danish test must be passed with at least the following scores: • spoken communication with a score of 10 • reading comprehension with a score of 7 • written expression with a score of 7
