Area Manager for Daycare

Be part of shaping the future of daycare services in Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality

Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality is seeking, effective January 1, 2027, an area leader who will foster cross-organizational leadership, high pedagogical quality, and coherence across daycare services.

How do you create a new organization that both builds on the best of existing practice and makes room for new ways to succeed? And how do you develop a leadership community where the individual leader takes on greater responsibility, and where you are stronger together?

These are some of the questions you will have the opportunity to work on as the new area leader in Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality.

Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality is changing the organization of the daycare area from four to two zones and is therefore seeking one of two area leaders to lead the new structure. This is a new position where both the organization and the leadership task must be shaped and developed. The final geographical distribution of the areas has not yet been fixed, and you are therefore seeking the opportunity to help shape the future daycare leadership in Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality.

You will have the opportunity to leave a substantial mark

You step into a moment with significant room to influence development. The task is to create a new organization with a shared direction, strong collaboration relations, and a culture where success is achieved across boundaries. You will build on engaged professional environments and local strengths, and also dare to challenge the existing.

You must succeed through other leaders

One of the most exciting tasks will be to develop a leadership model in which local leaders get a clear mandate and good conditions to exercise close pedagogical leadership. Your task here will be to create a leadership team that takes responsibility, develops each other and finds common solutions, with you as the overarching guiding figure.

You will have strategic influence close to the core task

As area leader you will have a large responsibility for both pedagogical development, finances and the overall operation. You must be able to move between long-term ambitions and everyday concrete dilemmas, and see the connection between them.

You will become part of a close leadership community

You will work closely with Head of Growth and Learning Søren Buch, the other area leader and the other leaders in the children and youth area. Here you will have the opportunity to shape the shared priorities and seek sparring in difficult decisions.

We are seeking a leader who is motivated by taking on a large responsibility but does not need to bear it alone. A leader who can achieve results through relationships, clear decisions and strong collaboration.
