Educational leader to set the direction for the future at Topstykket

Would you like to help create good conditions for children’s well-being, play and development and at the same time lead an institution that is moving, expanding and strengthening its pedagogical practice?

On February 1, 2027, Topstykket will move into a brand-new institution at Topstykket 4. During the following six months we will expand with two nursery groups and one kindergarten group. Therefore we are looking for a pedagogical leader who is keen to lead this development.

About Topstykket

Topstykket is an integrated day care institution and part of Cluster G. Today the institution consists of three nursery groups and one kindergarten group. When the institution is fully developed, it will house in total eight rooms.

We place emphasis on presence, play and good relationships and work to create secure child communities where all children feel they belong. With the new framework we have the opportunity to further develop our pedagogical practice and create coherence across the child groups.

Your leadership role

As a pedagogical leader you will be responsible for the staff, daily operations and the pedagogical development at Topstykket. Three tasks will be particularly central.

Relocation and establishment of a new institution

One of your first tasks will be to ensure a smooth transition to the new framework for children, parents and staff. The move is not only about new premises, but also about creating security, recognizability and coherence in daily life. At the same time the new framework provides opportunities to develop our play and learning environments and the organization of the pedagogical practice.

Recruitment, introduction and development of the working community

With the establishment of three new child groups, we must hire both pedagogues and pedagogical assistants. You will play a central role in recruitment and in ensuring that new colleagues receive a good introduction to the institution’s pedagogical work and shared values. At the same time you will bring new and experienced staff together in a strong working community, where diverse experiences are brought into play, and everyone takes responsibility for the common task.

Professional leadership and development of the pedagogical quality

We want to strengthen the pedagogical quality at Topstykket. Therefore we are looking for a leader who is close to practice, sets professional direction and supports employees’ reflection and development.

We work, among other things, with KIDS, the care aspect and the language staircase. Together with the staff you should be able to use observations, relevant data and evaluation to investigate practice and translate knowledge into concrete improvements in daily life.

We place emphasis on an exploratory approach, where we build on what works and are curious about what we can do differently to strengthen children’s well-being, development and participation in communities.

Who are you?

You are a trained pedagogue and have experience with leadership or professional coordination. You have a solid pedagogical foundation and are committed to developing practice together with the staff. You are a present and clear leader who can create structure, overview and security in a time of change. You know that development requires good relationships, involvement and shared responsibility.

You are curious and listening in collaboration with staff and parents. At the same time you can set direction, prioritise and make decisions, even when there are different wishes and perspectives.

About Cluster G

Cluster G in Valby/Vesterbro/Kgs. Enghave consists of seven day-care institutions. We work from the vision "We create strong communities for everyone", and our shared leadership principles are integrity, authenticity and presence.

Our strategy for 2026–2028 focuses on strengthening the pedagogical quality through, among other things, professional leadership close to practice, the LP model and a systematic evaluation culture.

You will become part of a management team where we prioritise professional sparring, shared reflection and development of our leadership. You will have close collaboration with the cluster leader and our cross-cutting pedagogical leader, who also supports the development of the pedagogical practice.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is 37 hours per week with start on January 1, 2027.

Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay formation. We will obtain a child and criminal background check and take references in connection with employment.
