About the job

A job with people, relationships and professional pride

Do you want to use your professional skills where relationships make the crucial difference?

At our social-psychiatric residential facility we are seeking a social and health care assistant who wants to engage in meaningful relational work with people with mental illnesses.

With us, everyday life is built around security, structure and respect for each resident's life situation and recovery process. We work in an affirming and rehabilitative manner, and place emphasis on both pedagogical and health-care competencies being actively brought into daily work.

We are looking for a professionally skilled, caring and responsible night shift worker who meets the residents with empathy, professional reflection and mental resilience , and who can maintain an overview and calm in both stable and more challenging situations. A night guard who can make a difference and help ensure that the house is safe and calm at night. We are a total of 4 permanent night guards, and work in teams of 2, where you become part of an engaged team where cooperation, professional sparring and responsibility are the core elements.

This is a permanent appointment of about 30 hours/week. Our other night guards have entered into a local agreement on postponing day off, therefore the position is 7/7, and for this position primarily shifts in odd weeks.

If you seek a job where you have the opportunity to contribute to development, quality of life and hope — and where your professionalism is valued — we look forward to hearing from you

What is Hedebo Residential Facility

Hedebo is a municipal social-psychiatric residential facility with space for a total of 36 residents distributed across 4 departments. We are about 40 staff with professional backgrounds such as pedagogue, occupational therapist, social and health care assistant, and nurse. In addition, a larger number of skilled and flexible internal substitutes, all with professional training in the mentioned groups.

The facility offers

  • long-term residential care under the Danish Social Services Act § 108.
  • temporary residential care under § 107.
  • one flex place § 84 which is a temporary offer. The stay at the flex place can be acute as well as planned, and can have varying length.
  • Telephone counseling, which is a social-psychiatric offering for vulnerable citizens with physical, mental and/or social functional impairment under §12 in the period 16:00 – 7:00.

Target group at Hedebo Residential Facility

Residents aged 18 and over who have significant psychiatric issues.

The facility offers long-term or temporary rehabilitative services with the aim of promoting well-being and self-management in collaboration with the individual resident.

Work is based on a recovery-oriented, rehabilitative approach, focusing on the possibility of living a life based on individual hopes, wishes and dreams for own life. This with reference to the resident's resources and needs.

Hedebo should be a good place to live. A place where residents thrive with a healthy everyday content, and receive help and support to master their own life. We work in a dialogic manner based on a holistic view of people, where residents are competent and equal citizens who are experts in their own life.

Hedebo is sports-certified, which means there are always planned activities in and outside the house. We have our own fitness center, daily physical activities, and an idea box where residents themselves contribute with wishes such as creativity, movie nights, beach trips, or similar.

We expect that

  • you are educated as a social and health care assistant
  • you have knowledge of and preferably experience from the specialized adult field
  • you are able to work from an approach based on respect, and will strive to support residents in living a good life with regard to their right to self-determination
  • you possess solid mental coping ability, resilience and maturity, as well as the will and ability to work independently and in a structured way
  • you can maintain an overview - even in pressured and sometimes hectic situations
  • you have good collaboration skills, and are interested in engaging in varied tasks, both in your team and across the house
  • you see yourself as a professional sparring partner, and value professional discussions with colleagues and management
  • you have good and clear communication skills, both written and oral.
  • you can use IT at ordinary user level, and are able to document the professional work. Preferably with knowledge of KMD Nexus and Sekoia.
  • you are reliable in showing up

We offer a varied and exciting job at a dynamic workplace in an organization in development, where:

  • interdisciplinary collaboration is regarded as a resource that helps to nuance the professional perspectives on the cooperation with residents.
  • residents are involved, as participation is considered a valuable and decisive factor for well-being and development
  • the workplace can offer a high professional level with opportunities for joint competence development
  • there is a focus on working "from protected to supported" with the aim of creating frames that support residents' opportunities to be actors in their own life
  • in daily life there is a focus on health-promoting initiatives, therefore there are fixed activities across the house – often outside the house, and several times a week. Here the employees often participate as well – otherwise you just accompany and support the resident in completing the activity.
  • there is a focus on a healthy and safe working environment, where professionalism, integrity and cooperation are equally important efforts.
