Are you a relationship-focused and present teacher who can create a safe, curious and structured learning environment for our students in the early years? Then you may be the maternity leave substitute we are seeking for our lower school.

At Munkholmskolen we are seeking an engaged Danish teacher for a maternity leave position in the early years with a start date 1 November 2026 and until the summer holiday 2027 with possibility of extension. The position is full-time.

About the position and subjects

You will be a central part of daily life in the early years, where your primary focus will be to support students' academic and social development. You should be able to take on the class teacher function in 3rd grade.

Your primary teaching subjects will

• Danish

Where you will be responsible for the foundational reading and writing development and strengthen students' linguistic curiosity

• Nature/technology

Where you together will explore the world, explore nature and ask big questions. The lessons are part of the class's outdoor day

• English

Where you, through play, song and dialogue, introduce the students to the English language in a lively way

• History

Where you succeed in making the past present and tangible for the younger classes through storytelling and creative activities

• 2 - teacher in 1st grade Danish instruction

In addition to teaching you will participate in a close and committed team collaboration with the other teachers and pedagogues of the year group. The close collaboration around the students' well-being and classroom management is a cornerstone of our educational work.

We are looking for a colleague who

• Is a trained Danish teacher and preferably with a main subject or experience in several of the mentioned subjects
• Has the desire and ability to work with students in the early years
• Is strong in classroom management and can create structure, predictability and a sense of safety in an active daily life
• Sees parental collaboration as a resource and places high value on an open and appreciative dialogue with the home
• Is a positive team player who actively contributes to the professional learning community

Salary and employment terms

The employment is in accordance with the current collective agreement.
