Become a permanent doctor at the Nursing Home of the Future

Aalborg Municipality has since January 2017 successfully rolled out the scheme with general practitioners attached to nursing homes in close collaboration with PLO-K Aalborg. All 39 nursing homes in the municipality (including private nursing homes and special care homes) have a fixed attached GP to the great satisfaction of all parties.

The nursing home doctors attached to Fremtidens Plejehjem have chosen to terminate their function by the end of November 2026. Therefore, a opportunity has now arisen to become a fixed attached doctor to the nursing home.

Fremtidens Plejehjem is located city-center on the harborfront in Nørresundby right down to the Limfjord. The home is three stories and has a total of 75 residences. The scheme with fixed doctors at nursing homes contains two elements:

• That residents at the nursing home are offered to switch to the doctor/clinic that is permanently attached to the nursing home. Here patient care is conducted as usual, i.e. with remuneration according to the general practitioner agreement and local arrangements.
• That the practicing GP provides general health-related advice to the staff and for this service automatically receives a monthly allowance in accordance with the agreement. The advice must not relate to the treatment of the individual patient. What the general advice should contain is agreed between the permanently attached physician and the nursing home and adapted to local conditions. OK 22: ” § 63 Fixed attached doctor at a nursing home Section 1. Doctors who are permanently attached as a doctor at a nursing home are remunerated with a fixed monthly fee of DKK 1,949.20, corresponding to two hours of advising and/or teaching on average per month with an hourly rate of DKK 974.60 including travel time. If a nursing home doctor has more than 30 residents at a nursing home, the doctor can provide and be remunerated for an extra hour of monthly advisory and/or teaching.

There will generally be emphasis on establishing a constructive and developmental collaboration between the permanently attached doctor, a fixed point of contact at the nursing home, and the other staff.

Working hours

The working time is as a rule 3 hours per month and is remunerated at DKK 2,923.80 per month.

Number of residences

Fremtidens Plejehjem comprises 75 residences. All new residents will be offered a free transfer to the new practice. The transfer of patients will take place gradually and coordinated with each practice.

Transport

Travel time is included in the hourly rate settlement.

Employment criteria

Both solo doctors and partnership practices can apply to become the permanently attached doctor at the nursing home. There will be no employment interviews, but the municipality will, where there are more applicants than the need for permanently attached doctors, among other things consider the current number of residents attached to the doctor and the doctor's geographic proximity to the nursing home.
