BI Specialist for the Danish Defence Intelligence Service

Do you want to help strengthen decision-making processes in an organization where data is part of our DNA? We are looking for a new BI specialist to join FE’s newly established cross-cutting BI team, which supports administrative and operational BI needs.

Description

The BI team is responsible for supporting strategic and managerial decisions with assumption-building and relevant data foundations and BI reports.

The development process from data source to presentation includes qualifying business needs with a strong focus on user involvement. As a BI specialist, you will be a key person in qualifying BI needs and developing BI reports. We are working to create a catalog of innovative and intuitive BI reports that should be part of the management’s daily routine.

The team consists of back-end and front-end colleagues who work closely together to develop good solutions for our users. As part of the team you will engage in close professional collaboration with FE’s IT organization.

We are a new team, and you will therefore have influence on how cross-cutting BI support should be developed and managed. You will become part of a team with a high pace and a high professional level, where curiosity, initiative, collaboration and the desire to strengthen Denmark’s security are driving our work. We have a strong focus on developing our capacity, including with the use of new technology – for example conversational BI.

As a BI specialist in FE’s BI team, your tasks will include

• Identifying and qualifying business needs
• Data analysis
• Development of user-friendly BI reports
• Quality assurance of BI reports
• Management and further development of production BI reports.

Your background

We imagine you have 2-3 years of experience from a similar position in the BI field and have a higher education degree in IT or social sciences. You have experience in identifying business processes, including identifying embedded business logic, and can translate business needs into concrete requirements. You have analytical sense and work in a structured way, and thrive in a dynamic daily life.

You are proactive in your approach to tasks and targeted use of technology, and are not afraid to pick up the phone and reach out. You are a skilled visual communicator and have the ability to design intuitive and user-friendly reports.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the following systems and tools

• Power BI or similar systems – for example Qlik and Tableau, etc.
• DAX, M or similar development languages
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Basic SQL skills

The Danish Defence Intelligence Service (FE) is Denmark’s foreign intelligence service and works – secretly and openly – to protect Denmark and Danish interests in a changing world.

Your salary package depends on your qualifications

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the relevant professional organization, depending on your educational background. In addition, you have the opportunity to negotiate a salary supplement based on qualifications. The average working time is 37 hours per week including a paid lunch break. The position includes a pension scheme paid by FE.

As an employee of FE you are covered by some special conditions. It is a requirement that you can obtain and maintain a security clearance throughout your employment. As in the rest of the defense, you are obligated to short-term deployments abroad.
