A safe home with specialized support

Rønnebo is a § 108 residential care facility for people with mental health challenges such as schizophrenia and severe affective disorders with recurrent psychoses. Here 64 residents aged 30-87 live. Some residents also have somatic illnesses or physical disabilities, and others face challenges with substance abuse, which we handle in close collaboration with external specialists. Several residents need support for social contact and to participate in community life in general.

We support the residents

You will have a workplace at the residential facility Rønnebo and, together with a colleague, cover the night shift in a 7/7 cycle from Monday to Sunday in odd weeks. Two other fixed night shifts cover the opposite shift week, which creates continuity and close collaboration.

We work in a recovery-oriented and rehabilitative manner. We always keep an eye on equality between people and have great respect for each individual’s right to self-determination while we are obliged to live up to our duty of care.

Our goal is that

• the residents whose biggest challenge is their psychiatric illness are supported in taking responsibility for their own lives back and learn to manage their psychiatric challenges, so that they can eventually move into a more independent housing
• the residents who, in addition to their psychiatric illness, also have somatic illnesses are supported to take as much responsibility for their own lives as possible and are motivated to live a fulfilling life at the residential facility

We can offer

You will become part of a well-functioning night shift team, where cooperation and continuity are highly valued. You work closely with your fixed partner and have good opportunities for sparring with management, which often meets at 7:00 a.m.

In addition, we offer

• a fixed night shift colleague with health professional training
• a good night shift team with a willingness to collaborate, e.g., when there is a need to swap shifts
• minimum four annual night shift staff meetings with management participation
• orientation as needed, including to medication handling

The nightly tasks

As a night shift worker you help create calm, security, and stability for residents throughout the night. The tasks are broad and include both social-pedagogical and health care tasks as well as documentation.

You will, among other things, work with

• observation and supervision of selected residents
• care conversations and social-pedagogical support as needed
• response to emergency calls and distribution of PN medication
• personal care, including diaper changes when needed
• handling of social conflicts as needed
• lighter practical and administrative tasks
• nursing tasks, e.g., catheter or stoma care in acute need
• documentation

About you

We are looking for a colleague who is educated as a social and health care assistant, but we are open to other health care educations, who wish to work exclusively in night shifts. You have professional knowledge of and preferably experience with psychiatry, as well as knowledge of somatic illnesses and physical disabilities.

In addition, we expect that you

• understand and want to handle the complexity of working in a residential facility where the night tasks range from social-pedagogical support, medication distribution, somatic care, and much more
• possess written communication skills, have an eye for both detail and the bigger picture, and see documentation as an important element of the core service
• can collaborate and communicate appropriately across shifts with colleagues and management
• have PC and IT competencies, including the ability to use Outlook, write emails and use Word

Employment terms

Salary and employment terms are set in accordance with qualifications and the applicable collective agreement between the municipality and the relevant professional organization.

We would like the position filled by December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible.

The working hours are full-time with shifts in odd weeks. That is seven consecutive work days and then seven days off. There will be few exceptions in connection with courses and staff meetings.

We are a flexible workplace that strives to ensure your work life and private life fit well together. The working time is distributed in a 7/7 cycle with start on Monday in odd weeks.
