About the job

Would you like to make a positive difference and work with children whose parents have sought treatment of cases such as residence, custody and/or visitation? Are you interested in mediation and conflict resolution between parents in collaboration with the legal system? And do you want to work on ensuring that children's voices are heard and understood in the process? Then read on!

We are seeking child-proven social workers, family therapists or similar for a newly established team in Odense, who will help families across the country.

Help for separated families – child-focused counseling, conflict resolution and mediation

At the Family Offices we help separated families strengthen parental cooperation regarding the child through a mentalizing and conflict-handling approach, where the child’s welfare is at the center. Our tasks include meetings with parents and children about custody, residence and visitation, as well as making decisions.

The position involves travel and work across our locations, typically 2 days a week. It is therefore important that you thrive in a flexible and varied workday and are motivated to collaborate with colleagues across the organization.

We focus on conflict management, mediation between parents and the individual challenges in each family to ensure the best solutions for the child. The goal is to support the child’s well-being by helping the parents find joint solutions for the benefit of their child and reduce the level of conflict.

Your tasks will include

  • hold physical and virtual meetings with parents who disagree about their children’s situation
  • hold physical conversations with children to involve their perspective
  • monitor visitation between child and parent in the child’s local area or at one of our locations
  • advise and guide parents in collaboration problems and disagreements about visitation, custody, the child’s residence, etc.
  • work in a conflict-handling and mentalizing way with parents

The team is responsible for case handling from start to finish

We work in self-organizing teams, composed cross-disciplinary of lawyers, child-focused advisors and administrative staff. The cross-disciplinary team plans the course of each case based on the specific family’s needs and with a focus on the child’s best. The team has a shared responsibility for the cases from start to finish. It is therefore important that you are good at collaboration and want to work cross-disciplinary and be a good sparring partner for your close colleagues.

Based on lean principles we work on improving our case processes and workflows. The aim is to ensure professionally relevant processes where the child’s interests and welfare come first, and the case handling is planned so families do not experience unnecessary waiting. We value your input and involve you in improving our processes and workflows. Therefore, your contribution has a direct influence on both the office’s operations and your team’s development.

Qualifications

We envision that you have a relevant background as a social worker, cand.pæd., cand.pæd.psych., or are an experienced educator with relevant further education and professional experience. To thrive in the role we expect you to:

  • Be good at communicating on eye level, able to handle conflict situations and ensure the child-focused perspective in meetings with parents.
  • Have a flair for administrative tasks and authority tasks, and be sharp in written communication.
  • Be able to collaborate in a team with openness and constructiveness and build strong relationships with colleagues.
  • Be willing to take responsibility for each case and for the team’s overall progression together with the rest of your team.
  • Have good IT skills
  • Be able to travel to other locations and hold physical meetings.

We offer

With us you get the opportunity to make a difference in a workday where you contribute to solving concrete challenges and creating results that matter. We offer:

  • Thorough onboarding and ongoing supervision.
  • A dynamic and professional work environment with a focus on collaboration and results.
  • A team where humor, drive and engagement are paramount.
  • A workplace with a focus on good work/life balance and an informal atmosphere, where we both share knowledge - and coffee breaks.
