About the job

Do you want to make a difference for a young person with complex support needs? Then you may be the person we are looking for.

About the job

Your special task

The position is linked to a young person with significant functional impairments and complex support needs, who requires a specially planned and shielded intervention. The work primarily takes place in a 1:2 framework in close collaboration with a colleague around the young person’s daily life. With the exception of morning shifts on weekdays where you are 1:1 until the young person is picked up by taxi to school.

As a Temp you will be a central and ongoing person in the young person’s life. The task requires that you can create safe, predictable and developmental frameworks through a clear pedagogical structure and a strong relational approach.

The young person may, at times, react with outwardly challenging or self-harming behavior as an expression of distress, burden or lack of regulation. Therefore, it is important that you can remain calm, de-escalate conflicts and use professional methods with a focus on prevention, understanding and development.

The task also involves close collaboration with family, school and other partners to create coherence and continuity around the young person’s well-being, development and quality of life.

We seek temps who are motivated to work closely to the core task and who see value in the small steps, the strong relationships and the specialized intervention that makes a real difference in a young person’s life.

Responsibilities

  • create structure, predictability and development opportunities for the young person
  • engage in relationship work and support the young person’s social and communicative development
  • work with children with both outwardly reactive, self-harming and care-intensive needs
  • document both health-related and pedagogical aspects
  • work with action plans in daily pedagogical work
  • engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with colleagues and external partners
  • actively participate in reflection, sparring and development of the pedagogical practice
  • have experience with or an interest in working with children and young people with autism, developmental disorders or complex support needs
  • can remain calm, keep an overview and engage in professional reflection in pressured situations
  • see the value in relationship work and be patient in working with small developmental steps
  • are prepared to work closely with a colleague on a task where shared professionalism and consistent practice are essential

We offer

  • training
  • introduction to LA2 (Low Arousal 2) and neuroaffective developmental psychology
  • medication handling course
  • health-related day and training in health-related competencies
  • annual course in the use of force so you are as well prepared as possible for the task
  • we have a strong focus on translating new knowledge into concrete pedagogical practice, so it is clearly reflected in the work with the core task.
  • an inspiring and challenging job with dedicated colleagues from several professional groups
  • a professionally strong environment focusing on development, well-being and collaboration
  • a structured introductory program that ensures a good start
  • a workplace focused on well-being where we help each other in daily life

About you

We are seeking a temp who can act in the present and subsequently reflect, and who thrives in daily life in interaction with the young person and your colleagues.

We expect that you

  • can work in a structured way and create predictability for the children
  • have good writing skills
  • are keen to learn – documentation and action plan work
  • place high value on interdisciplinary collaboration and parent collaboration
  • are flexible regarding tasks and working hours
