Egaa Gymnasium seeks an engaged janitor

37 hours per week · Start date January 1, 2027

Do you have practical and technical understanding, and do you thrive in close collaboration, with a good mood and daily contact with young people? Then you might be our new janitor.

You will become part of a janitor team where we plan the tasks together, help each other, and take joint responsibility for the school's operation. At the same time you will be a visible part of daily life at the gymnasium with close contact to both students and staff. You should therefore be eager to meet many different people with helpfulness and a good mood.

About the school

Egaa Gymnasium is an independent educational institution with about 750 students and 100 staff. The school is located at Mejlbyvej 4 in Egå in buildings from 2006 with an extension from 2012, which is continuously maintained and modernized.

Your primary tasks

• Operation and supervision of technical installations, including heating, ventilation and energy consumption.
• Repairs, maintenance and care of buildings, furnishings and outdoor areas.
• Contact and coordination with tradespeople, suppliers, authorities and external users.
• Preparation of rooms for teaching, examinations, sports activities, parties and other events.
• Coordination with Aarhus Municipality and leisure users about the sports hall.
• Opening and closing of the school, telephone availability during alarms and daily help and service to students and staff.

Tasks outside normal opening hours may occur in connection with events. The school also has an evening janitor assigned on weekdays.

We imagine that you

• Have a relevant craft or technical background and preferably experience with building operation.
• Work independently and take responsibility, but also prioritize joint solutions and help where the team needs it.
• Are approachable and service-minded and look forward to a everyday life with a lot of student contact, questions and unforeseen tasks.
• Have reasonable IT skills and can use digital systems in the work.
• Actively contribute to a well-functioning janitor team with good communication, flexibility, respect and room for humor.

Employment and application

The position is 37 hours per week with start date January 1, 2027. Employment and remuneration follow the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the relevant trade union.
