About the job

Center for Frivilligt Socialt Arbejde (CFSA) seeks two consultants for our department of volunteer- and organizational development: one with leadership experience and one with experience in creating collaboration between civil society and municipalities from a public perspective. We are seeking two consultants because we have received more tasks and need more skilled staff to solve them.

Your tasks

As a consultant at CFSA you will – regardless of which of the two positions you apply for - work both independently and with your colleagues on tasks such as e.g.:

  • Advice and sparring to volunteers, associations, organizations and municipalities/regions
  • Development processes with municipalities, e.g. when they need to develop a volunteer strategy or strengthen collaboration with civil society
  • Teaching on CFSA’s courses around the country and on webinars from our study
  • Presentations, lectures, facilitation of workshops and longer development processes
  • Development and facilitation of professional networks
  • Participation in follow-up groups etc. in projects for organizations, municipalities, agencies and foundations
  • Contributions to evaluation and analysis tasks with knowledge about trends in civil society
  • Management of budgets, timelines and external deliverables

Who are you?

For both positions we imagine that you

  • Have experience with process management and teaching – or be willing to acquire them quickly, as courses, lectures, workshops and longer development programmes are a central part of the job
  • Thrive in managing processes and creating good learning environments for participants
  • Have experience facilitating and/or leading networks
  • Have a relevant higher education degree – combined with solid experience from working life
  • Are accustomed to and thrive with a high degree of flexibility and self-management – and a sometimes busy workday

For the position as municipal affairs consultant

We are looking for you who

  • Have experience from a municipal administration or another public organization with creating collaboration with the local civil society – e.g. developing a volunteer strategy or in other ways working to create cross-department and civil society collaboration projects
  • Know the municipal workflows from inside and can translate your knowledge and experience into advice and support to civil society organizations

For the position as leadership professional consultant

We are looking for you who

  • Have experience as an employed leader in a voluntary or member-based organization
  • Have experience leading staff and possibly also volunteers
  • Understand and can navigate the opportunities and dilemmas that arise in the interaction between employees, volunteers and elected boards
  • Have experience from an organization with local branches, districts or similar organizational levels
  • Have strong professional insight into voluntarism, associations and organizational development

Who are we?

CFSA is a government-funded knowledge and development centre that supports voluntarism and the voluntary sector in the welfare area through advice, courses, consultancy, analyses and much more. Our target groups are volunteers, employees and leaders in small and large associations, volunteer centres and nationwide organizations. We also collaborate with municipal administrations, agencies, ministries, think tanks, researchers and foundations – in fact those invested in the development of civil society in the welfare area.

As an employee at CFSA you will become part of a skilled team at an ambitious and friendly workplace with currently 20 employees and many areas of expertise collaborating across the board. We emphasize quality in task solving, curiosity and internal knowledge sharing and sparring. The atmosphere is informal, and we believe you can be academically ambitious and enjoy yourself at the same time.

Workplace, conditions and salary

The position must be filled no later than 1 February 2027 with workplace at our office in Kongensgade, Odense C. You have the possibility of at least one home working day, and part of the working time will involve tasks around the country. You must therefore be prepared that some tasks lie outside normal working hours and on weekends, and we expect you to have a driving license and access to a car when public transport is not sufficient.

You receive a flexitime arrangement, six weeks of vacation, freedom on Constitution Day, paid lunch break and opportunities for relevant further education. We follow the state collective agreement, and the salary level depends on your placement based on seniority and relevant competencies.

How to apply

Send your application and CV in one consolidated pdf file to [email protected] no later than Monday 23 November at 12.00. Write “leadership professional consultant” or “municipal affairs consultant” in the subject line so we know which position you are applying for.

We expect to conduct interviews in weeks 49-51.

If you would like to know more, you are welcome to write to head of volunteer- and organizational development Birgitte Urban Nielsen at [email protected] .
