About the job

Our Psychiatric Acute Reception (PAM) and Psychiatric Acute Reception Intensive (PAMI) at the Psychiatric Hospital in Slagelse are looking for two new chief physicians, of whom one must be the leading. As a new medical pair you will have a solid foundation and two important collaborators in our team – in a modern psychiatry organization characterized by a good working environment, high professional quality and cohesive patient pathways.

What you get with us

At PAM and PAMI you will be part of an acute psychiatry service that is characterized by a stable and experienced group of physicians and a particularly good working environment, where high professionalism goes hand in hand with psychological safety, openness and a strong collegial togetherness. We work closely as one team and emphasize that employees thrive and find meaning in their work, also in a daily life marked by high complexity and pace.

You as chief physician will meet engaged and competent colleagues across professional groups, and there is a clear culture of sparring, dialogue and shared responsibility for patient pathways. Education and competence development are given high priority, both for training physicians and specialists, and there are good opportunities for continuing education, including participation in conferences and specialist training.

As the leading chief physician you will also have the opportunity to influence the professional and organizational development of the departments and join a strong leadership community in Psychiatry West with close leadership sparring.

Regardless of position, we offer flexible work arrangements, influence on your own daily life and an attractive salary package.

Psychiatry West has a bus service with departures from DGI-byen, Valby station and Solrød t/r on weekdays.

What you will do with us

As a leading chief physician you will, in close collaboration with the head nurses, have overall responsibility for both PAM and PAMI, including medical treatment and the daily management of the doctors in the departments. This gives you the opportunity to set the direction for the professional development, create coherence across the two departments in addition to ensuring quality and patient safety as well as contributing to creating good workflows and a well-functioning flow in a busy acute daily life.

In addition, you will become part of the overall management group in Psychiatry West and participate in cross-cutting management and development tasks.

As a chief physician you will have a central clinical role and, in collaboration with the head nurses and the multidisciplinary staff, lead the treatment of patients in PAM and PAMI. You will carry out ward rounds, participate in daily conferences and focus on initial treatment, planning of further course and potential investigations. You will also actively contribute to supervision and training of younger doctors and help ensure cohesive patient pathways across departments and sectors.

Common to both positions is participation in on-call duties, close collaboration with colleagues and management, and an active role in the development of acute psychiatry.

What we look for in you

We are looking for someone who is passionate about acute psychiatry and wants to make a difference in an environment characterized by high professionalism, collaboration and development. You have a specialist medical training in psychiatry and are motivated by working in a daily life where no days are the same, and where you together with colleagues create safety and quality for both patients and staff.

You have strong collaboration skills and thrive in a multidisciplinary environment where dialogue, sparring and shared responsibility are central. You actively contribute to a good working environment where we pull together and support each other – even when the pace is high.

You thrive in an acute context and have the ability to maintain overview, prioritize and create flow in patient pathways. You thus have an eye for both the whole and the details, and you work with high professionalism with a clear focus on quality, education and professional development. At the same time you are robust, decisive and able to keep a cool head and make decisions in pressurized situations.

We place emphasis on that you

  • Have specialist training in psychiatry and preferably experience from acute psychiatry (the latter is not a requirement, but an advantage)
  • Want to work in the acute part of psychiatry and are motivated by variation and complexity
  • Are collaborative, attentive and good at creating trust and engagement around you
  • Contribute to a safe and inclusive working environment where multidisciplinary collaboration is seen as a strength
  • Focus on quality, patient safety and continuous professional development – for yourself and your colleagues
  • Are robust, decisive and can act quickly and safely when required
  • Have an interest in teaching, guiding and supervising younger doctors and other professional groups

If you apply for the position as leading chief physician, we also expect that you

  • Have leadership experience or a clear desire to develop your leadership skills
  • Can set direction, motivate and gain followers in the medical group and across departments
  • Have a focus on both people and tasks and can balance operations, development and working environment
  • Are eager to join a close leadership community and contribute to the overall development of Psychiatry West

We welcome applications from both individuals and pairs who want to work closely together in a dynamic and development-oriented environment.
