Chief Physician with personnel management responsibilities sought for Radiology and Scanning, HE Midt

We are seeking an engaged and visionary chief physician who – in close collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer and the lead physicians in the Breast Clinic and our unit in Silkeborg – will jointly lead the staff management of the department's medical group

An exciting position as Chief Physician at Hospital Unit Midt, Radiology and Scanning, Viborg Regional Hospital, is available for appointment on 1 December 2026 or by agreement. The position is a full-time role of 37 hours per week.

About the position

We are seeking an engaged and visionary chief physician who – in close cooperation with the Chief Medical Officer and the lead physicians in the Breast Clinic and our unit in Silkeborg – will jointy lead the staff management of the department's medical group:

• 23 consultants
• 10 department physicians
• 16 training physicians

You will play a central role in ensuring both daily operations and the strategic development of the department, where you will become an important sparring partner for both management and colleagues. About the department

Radiology and Scanning, Hospital Unit Midt, is one of Denmark's largest radiology units outside the university hospitals. The department has activities in Viborg, Silkeborg, Hammel and Skive and covers a wide range of specialties. The emergency hospital in Viborg serves 241,000 citizens and has a 24/7 radiological emergency service with specialized examinations such as MR, CT, US and fluoroscopy. Our department also houses the combined mammography and surgery for the central-west region as well as Randers.

Diagnostic packages and elective examinations are performed in Viborg, Silkeborg, Hammel and Skive, and the department covers a wide range of specialties such as traumatology, surgery, urology, orthopedics, cardiology and more.

The department participates in medical continuing education at introductory and HU levels, and in the education of medical students at Aarhus University. The department also educates radiographer students, health administrative coordinators, as well as descriptive radiographers and sonographers.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement in the field.

With reference to the Act on Child Certificates in connection with the employment of staff, a child certificate will be obtained in connection with potential employment.

Employment is with Region Midtjylland with service currently at Hospital Unit Midt

The position is, as a rule, a full-time position.
