The professional

The work must always be driven by involvement and documentation – we must know what the young people themselves think, what is important to them, and they must know the background and the purpose of our decisions. The cases must be manageable, up-to-date and with professional assessments for all case steps.

The social/collegial

We are a working community that wishes each other well – we go to work and contribute to a good task completion and mood across the group. We are proactive, even when we are in doubt, and we always help each other.

We particularly emphasize that you

• are a trained social worker or social facilitator
• have experience with authorities work and preferably experience/knowledge from the youth sector, work with the Child Act and the Act on the Prevention of Youth Crime
• are genuinely interested in the young person’s and family’s life story and recognize that all communication is an expression of an intention to be listened to and understood
• take pride in documenting your work to ensure the rights of the young people and families. You work systematically and can structure your time to meet your deadlines
• work with a high degree of involvement of the young person’s private and professional network and have an appreciative, positive and friendly approach to citizens and colleagues
• take part in the responsibility to maintain a high professional standard by using applicable legislation, and you enjoy incorporating relevant professional knowledge and theory into your work
• have experience with working in DUBU and using ICS as your professional frame of reference
• have a driving license and access to your own car.

Our organization and work

The Family Department is growing to 70 child and youth advisors, one leader, four team leaders and two cross-functional professional consultants and 3 professional coordinators in the teams of Disability, Children and Youth.

Our core task is to create positive change and development for the children and young people who are in our professional care for a period. Our work is based on the Children’s Act, and we have a strong focus on involvement and helpfulness.

We believe that real involvement of the young person and the parents creates ownership and motivation for change. All young people are wise in their own lives, and they have abilities and resources that can be supported and developed. We work from the conviction that professional relationship competence is a foundation for respectful, inclusive and factual contact. Long-term and sustainable solutions are best achieved when the network and the professionals collaborate on the effort for the child. Therefore we are in full swing with implementing active work with inclusive network meetings and family conferences.

Salary and employment terms

In accordance with the applicable collective agreement between KL and the negotiating organization.

For employment involving work with children and young people, a child certificate will be obtained. Employment is conditional on a child certificate without remarks.
