About the job

Do you have a knack for details, an eye for structure and a desire to work with finances, controls and administrative processes? Do you want to help ensure that the Armed Forces' procurement is conducted correctly, and that we have control of rules, workflows and follow-up?

Then you may be our new compliance employee in the Establishment and Terrain Command in Hjørring.

We are looking for a colleague who thrives on creating overview, following up on tasks, and collaborating with many different people. You will have the opportunity to use your administrative and financial skills in an important function where thoroughness, responsibility and good collaboration make a real difference.

You don’t need to be an expert in compliance from day one. The most important thing is that you work in a structured way, are curious, and want to develop with us.

About us

The Defence buys in for significant sums, and therefore it is important that we have control of our processes, controls and follow-up. A strong control environment helps ensure that procurement is carried out correctly and that the organization’s resources are used responsibly.

As a compliance employee you will be part of the work to ensure good administrative workflows and consistent practice in procurement within the Establishment and Terrain Command.

You will be assigned to the Compliance section, where nine employees work with advisory services, analyses, control, audit and compliance within various areas. You will become part of the compliance team, where we help each other, share knowledge and emphasize that tasks are solved thoroughly and on time.

We collaborate broadly across our own organization and with other authorities in the Defence Ministry’s group. That means you will have a wide network and the opportunity to develop a good understanding of both processes, rules and the organization’s different needs.

We maintain an informal tone and value that there is room to ask questions, learn new things and propose improvements. You will have freedom with responsibility and the opportunity to influence how we plan and develop our tasks.

We prioritize both your professional development and our joint results. At the same time we offer flexible arrangements for everyday life with flex-time and the possibility of home office by agreement.

About the position

You will have a varied daily routine in working with financial controls, administrative processes and systematic follow-up on the procurement area.

You will be responsible for performing a number of fixed, recurring group-wide and internal controls.

We offer you the opportunity to become the team’s primary resource person for extracting and analyzing data from our systems. Your other tasks will span broadly and support the team’s overall task solving

You will help ensure that the common controls are carried out, that documentation is in place, and that follow-up occurs when something requires special attention. You must be able to work independently on your own tasks and also collaborate with colleagues and leaders across the organization.

Your main tasks will include, among others

  • Contributing to the development and operation of a strong financial control environment, with a focus on control, follow-up and advisory services.
  • Implementing and following up on common controls in the procurement area.
  • Collaborating with relevant staff and areas to ensure good workflows and correct compliance with rules and procedures.
  • Contributing to good, consistent and responsible business practice in the Establishment and Terrain Command.
  • Participating in audits, inspections and reviews, and assisting with collecting documentation and following up on results.
  • Contributing to compliance investigations and ensuring that agreed actions are followed through.
  • Staying informed about relevant legislation, provisions and internal guidelines.
  • Preparing and compiling information for reporting to management and relevant authorities.
  • Participating in working groups and professional networks both internally in the agency and across the Defence Ministry’s group.
  • Planning meetings, maintaining an annual cycle, coordinating follow-up and managing the administrative tasks that support the team’s work.

In other words, you must help ensure that we have control of the details, documentation and follow-up—and that our processes work in practice.

The tasks will develop over time, and you will gradually have the opportunity to take on more areas as you gain experience and familiarity with the organization.

About you

We imagine, for example, that you have a vocational education with an administrative or financial focus. You may also have a relevant academic education, or another educational background that provides you with a solid foundation for the tasks, but this is not a requirement. We provide good, solid onboarding.

The most important is not your exact education, but that you want to work systematically with control, documentation and follow-up.

You may be newly graduated and ready to take your next step in working life. You may also be an experienced administrative employee who wants to use your skills in a new context and develop professionally. We provide an introduction and training that takes your experience into account.

Experience with finance, purchasing, internal controls or administrative processes is an advantage. The same applies to knowledge of the Defence, SAP or similar systems, but this is not a requirement.

We also expect that you

  • Work in a structured way and have a keen eye for detail, documentation and quality.
  • Are good at creating an overview, prioritizing tasks and following up so that things are completed.
  • Can work independently but also thrive on solving tasks in collaboration with others.
  • Communicate clearly and politely both orally and in writing.
  • Are willing to learn new rules, systems and workflows.
  • Are curious and ask questions when you encounter something that could be improved.
  • Can juggle multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Are service-minded and good at fostering collaboration with colleagues across the organization.
  • Want to develop your competences and help the team continually improve.

You do not need to know all rules and systems in advance. We place more emphasis on being thorough, taking responsibility and wanting to learn.

Does the position sound right for you? Then we look forward to hearing from you.
