About the job

The labor market area in Norddjurs Municipality seeks an engaged and analytically strong consultant who is passionate about political support, management support and strategic development.

Can you create an overview of complex issues, see the bigger contexts and translate knowledge and analyses into a clear basis for decisions? Do you have a political understanding and a desire to work closely with the management in an organization in development? Do you also have an understanding of financial management in a municipality? Then you might be our new colleague.

About the position

You will become part of the staff in the labor market area, where you will play a central role in supporting the head of the labor market area, the department heads and the political decision-making process.

You will work with a broad range of tasks within political support, management support, analyses and strategic development. An important part of the job is to create an overview, ensure solid decision bases and contribute to translating political and managerial decisions into action.

You will work closely with both management, the areas of expertise and other parts of the municipal organization. The labor market area is at the center of significant changes as a result of the employment reform, and you will have the opportunity to play an active role in the development of the area.

Your primary tasks will be

  • Prepare case documents, memorandums and decision proposals for political committees and management
  • Support the head of the labor market area and the department heads with analyses, coordination and follow-up on strategic initiatives.
  • Contribute to the implementation of political decisions, reforms and organizational changes.
  • Prepare analyses, management information and decision bases that create an overview and support the development of the labor market area.
  • Coordinate and follow up on cross-cutting tasks, projects and political assignments.
  • Contribute to the development of management information and data-driven solutions in collaboration with relevant colleagues.
  • Engage in tasks with economic analyses and budgetary impact assessments in collaboration with the municipal finance department.

About you

You work analytically and in a structured way and are good at creating an overview, even when issues are complex and there are many considerations to balance. You have strong written communication skills and can translate professional knowledge, data and analyses into precise and understandable decision proposals.

You thrive on working closely with management and understand the particular conditions that apply in a politically governed organization. At the same time you are independent, curious and good at collaborating across disciplines.

We imagine that you

  • Have a relevant advanced education, for example in public administration, social science, political science, law or economics.
  • Have strong analytical abilities and can translate complex issues into clear conclusions and recommendations.
  • Are a skilled written communicator who can produce precise and well-structured case documents, memorandums and decision proposals.
  • Have an understanding of political decision-making processes and the interplay between policy, administration and leadership.
  • Work independently, in a structured way and have an eye for both details and the overarching contexts.
  • Have good collaboration skills and thrive in a varied daily life where tasks and priorities can change.

It is not a requirement, but an advantage, if you have knowledge of the employment/occupational area.

It is also an advantage if you have an understanding of public finance and can work with numbers and data. You do not need to be an economics specialist. We primarily value your analytical abilities, your written communication and your ability to create value for the leadership and the organization.

We offer

  • A versatile and exciting position close to both the management and the political decision-making processes.
  • Opportunity to influence the development of the labor market area in a time of major changes.
  • A daily life with varied tasks where your analyses and decision proposals have concrete impact.
  • Skilled and dedicated colleagues in a team where we help each other and collaborate across areas.
  • Flexible working conditions and opportunity for home office.
  • Good opportunities for professional and personal development.
  • Great independence in task solving with the opportunity to take responsibility, leave your mark on the work and contribute to the development of the area.
