Creative helper sought for 11-year-old creative girl

Creative helper sought for a happy girl full of creativity in Skovlunde.

Is it easy and straightforward for you to sew on a sewing machine? Do you want to share your interest in sewing with a happy and creative girl? And are you a pedagogue or an experienced helper? Then read on!

About the girl

In Skovlunde lives an 11-year-old girl together with her parents and two siblings. In the family they primarily speak English and a little Danish, but the helper does not need to speak English. The girl has ADHD and autism. She is very creative and is particularly fond of sewing. She enjoys upcycling second-hand clothing, which she sews into either clothing or, for example, a nice bag. She is a perfectionist and cares about doing things correctly and can become frustrated if it doesn’t succeed.

At school her favorite subject is art, and she generally enjoys being creative. In addition, she goes swimming, and she also likes programming and playing Minecraft.

About the task

On a weekday you pick her up at school and accompany her home, after which you are 1:1 with the girl. The school is within walking distance. You can, for example, sew something together on a sewing machine, as it is her big interest. It is therefore an advantage if the helper can sew on a sewing machine. Other activities that the girl and the helper can do together include baking, painting or something else creative. The helper should also prepare an afternoon snack for the girl.

She can be resistant to tidying up after herself. The helper should therefore support her in tidying up after herself during the activities, e.g., putting the plate in the dishwasher when she has had an afternoon snack, packing away paints or fabric, or putting things away. At the start it is important to focus on building a good relationship.

Working hours

Total of 6 hours per week distributed on Tuesday and Saturday. On Tuesdays you arrive at 15:00 and are with the girl for 2 or 3 hours. On Saturdays the working time is 3-4 hours, where the exact time is agreed with the girl’s mother.
