Dance, play and presence – become a support for a 7-year-old girl in Jyllinge

Do you have experience with epilepsy and children with special needs? And are you interested in a fixed 1:1 assignment, where you create safety and presence for a 7-year-old girl?

About the assignment

You will be a fixed support for a 7-year-old girl with significantly reduced functional ability. The task takes place in the family's home, where you must ensure that the girl has her needs met and experiences safe and cozy moments with you.

The girl loves to dance, draw, and have stories read aloud. In the summer she also enjoys jumping on a trampoline. As an employee you will become part of these activities and must create good experiences based on her interests and needs.

The girl has a chronic lung disease, epilepsy, and is delayed in her motor and language development. She has a limited speech, and sign language is used to support her communication. In addition, she has reduced vision and needs support in daily life.

You are attentive to the girl's signals and tailor your support to her needs. Work includes strengthening her walking function and linguistic development.

The girl also has a weakened immune system and is particularly vulnerable to infections. Therefore it is important that you are mindful of hygiene and infection prevention.

There are also health-related tasks in the form of seizure-stopping medication during epileptic seizures and oxygen therapy as needed.

About you

We are looking for someone who has experience with epilepsy and is comfortable working with children with special needs. You can be unskilled with relevant experience or have a pedagogical or health care education.

It is an advantage if you have experience with sign language.

Working hours

The position is for 22 hours per month, distributed over 5-6 shifts of 3-4 hours each.

Shifts are agreed with the family and can take place on weekdays and weekends.

Additionally, there may be a need that you, in case of illness, can work up to 37 hours per week in the hours 08:00–15:00.

Salary and pension in accordance with the National Agreement for disability assistance in the citizen's own home (excluding BPA) between FOA and Dansk Erhverv. You are covered by DUOS' liability and work injury insurance and health insurance is part of your pension scheme.
