About the job

We need you to help create strong communities and inspiring learning. If you want to make a difference for young people on the path to adolescence, join our team.

We specifically need a Danish teacher in the lower secondary (udskolingen), who also has an interest in LKT. In addition to Danish, we would very much like you to also be a co-class teacher in one of our wonderful lower secondary classes. Furthermore, it would be a plus if you can also contribute with other subjects and experiences.

In the position there is the possibility to take on LKT tasks and/or supplementary Danish; if that is another subject area or interest for you, there is ample opportunity to develop here.

As a lower-secondary teacher you join a strong and engaged teaching team, where we work closely together, and we focus on getting new teachers onboard, among other things through a mentoring scheme.

In our school, the upper years start in 6th grade. You will become part of a year-group team that will follow the classes all the way to the final exams. You work closely together in the team, both on small tasks and the long-term. And all of this happens in close collaboration with your pedagogical leader.

It is important to us that you focus on developing your subject knowledge while also contributing to the school's overall development. We are looking for a teacher who is reflective, a good listener and able to build good relationships with both children, parents and colleagues. We work in teams, and you must therefore have good collaboration skills and a desire to drive tasks and ideas forward and be able to think in possibilities, even when it is difficult or new. We are happy to rethink our subject knowledge, but also value keeping to traditions.

We prioritise that you

  • Have a strong passion for Danish in the lower secondary.
  • Have one or two other subjects that you are just as excited to dive into.
  • Have experience from the teaching sector and preferably be subject-qualified.
  • Are reflective, good at listening and able to build good relationships with both children, parents and colleagues.
  • Are clear in your classroom management.
  • Focus on developing your subject knowledge while also contributing to the school's overall development.
  • Are an inspiring and motivated teacher in close relation with students and colleagues.
  • Would preferably have experience with either LKT tasks or supplementary Danish teaching.

Why should you choose us

You should choose us if you want to become part of a large community with about 1000 students and 130 adults, where we work for each other, and where we have a positive, appreciative view of children. The school works with community-building class leadership. We are a strong team with many different competencies – a good mix of new and experienced staff. The school has a total of 6 pedagogical leaders. This means we have leadership close to practice.

We have good opportunities for continuing education, sparring and mentoring for new colleagues, and there is room for new initiatives, ideas and projects. Our school day focuses on variation, traditions and experiences across the whole school – both with students and colleagues.

The school is located close to the scenic Ådalen, which we like to use for outdoor teaching. There is an S-train close to the school and generally good infrastructure, so there are good conditions for commuters. Frederikssund is a growing municipality with a focus on good conditions especially for families with children.

About the position

If you are a newly qualified teacher, you will be assigned a mentor who will accompany you for the first school year.
