About the job

We are seeking a new colleague as of January 1, 2027 as a drop-in center and support contact person in the substance abuse area. The position is 37 hours per week and the working hours are on weekdays within normal working hours.

Do you want to be part of a drop-in center where people are met with warmth and presence?

If you are a person who thrives in relationships and who can find calm and meaning in being something for others in their everyday life, then you may very well be the colleague we are looking for.

About the job – and about us

At the drop-in center you meet people who are often alone in life. Many live with a heavy use of drugs, mental vulnerability and a daily life that can be both unpredictable and tough. With us they get a place to land. A place where they can get a warm meal, a wash, a cup of coffee and not least a person who sees them, listens to them and meets them without judgment.

You will become an important part of the atmosphere that makes the drop-in center a safe space. It will be you who helps create the everyday: you plan and prepare meals for around 16 people, take care of shopping and finances in the cafe operation and you are in charge of selling Hus Forbi newspapers to our local sellers. But just as important is that you are present in the room. That you are the one who says good morning, asks questions, monitors moods and helps create calm when life is on fire.

We celebrate holidays together, go on small trips and strive to create the moments where people feel at home, even if they may not have a home.

The position also includes outreach work as a support and contact person for those citizens who have difficulty using the existing services. Here it is about creating contact, building trust and being a stable relationship in a life where much else can be unstable.

Who are you?

We hope you are a person who can stand solid in yourself and at the same time meet others with warmth, humor and respect. You must be able to navigate a daily routine where things can change quickly and where the relationship is your most important tool. It matters that you can maintain an overview, communicate clearly and handle any conflicts in a calm and proper manner.

You must be able to work independently but you will also be part of a small team where we take care of each other, share experiences and help each other when something is difficult. And it is important that you know your own boundaries and can say yes and no in a respectful way. A driving license is required.

What you get with us

You will get a job where you make a difference every day. Often in small things but with great significance. You will become part of a team that values professionalism, humor, care and honesty.

We offer external supervision, collegial sparring and a culture where we talk to each other and not about each other.

The substance abuse area consists of 15 employees with different professional backgrounds and we work closely together to create the best possible framework for the citizens.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and according to the principles of local pay formation.

A police clearance and a criminal records check will be obtained upon employment.

A driving license for category B - ordinary car is a requirement.

The position is 37 hours per week.
