About the job

We work at Bjergbo because

  • "You gain fantastic, rewarding and meaningful relationships with the residents." (Lone, pedagogue)
  • “At Bjergbo there is a safe and professional collaboration between colleagues; we come in together to give the residents the best possible day, and we help and support each other to make it succeed” (Mathilde, clinical coordinator)
  • “We have great freedom on shifts and shift swaps.” (Line, Occupational Therapist)

In Bjergbo’s four houses live 30 residents with physical and mental functional impairments. We are 80+ staff at Bjergbo, and while some have 20 years of service, others move on. It opens doors for new opportunities – perhaps it is your turn to become part of the Bjergbo community?

We are looking for two employees

PEDAGOGUE FOR HOUSE B

We are looking for the right piece for Bjergbo’s House B – our largest department with 4 staff on shift, for nine residents. Here we specifically seek a pedagogue or PAU who will help develop the educational effort:

The residents in House B need you if you can create present moments in a changing everyday life, can communicate both verbally and nonverbally, can stay calm when, for example, epilepsy hits, which makes social life flourish, and can use even the smallest occasion to throw a party and have fun.

The staff in House B appreciate a curious colleague who rests in their own professional competency, and who can see the differences in the staff group as an advantage. You will become part of a large group of staff, both younger and more experienced, all with great engagement in their work. House B can offer a work life where your presence makes the difference between a good and a bad day, and you can immerse yourself professionally in your residents’ entire lives.

AND NOW WE SEEK A “SWISS ARMY KNIFE”

The Swiss Army Knife is Bjergbo’s newest project, which after a year and a half of trial period is now permanent. A Swiss Army Knife is extra staff every day – a gentle over-coverage, one might call it. Each day there is thus someone to cover the first acute illness or a sudden trip to the doctor. The days when there is no illness, you must be the cream, the jack-of-all-trades, extra hands and head.

In prioritized order you must: Give colleagues breaks, cover if colleagues need to step away for larger documentation tasks, run activities with the residents, start the Friday bar, tidy up/create a sense of surplus here at Bjergbo.

We started the project in July 2025, and you will become the third Swiss Army Knife in a small team of three. You rotate to cover all days 11:00–21:00 – and you work every third weekend. So you have about 3–4 shifts per week depending on your desired working time. You will be trained in a couple of departments, and from there you can gradually also learn the other departments.

You may have several different educations in your background for this position. Here your personality, your experience, your adaptability and your desire to help develop something new will be decisive. For you must enjoy being able to do a bit of everything, to be in several places, not know what you will do tomorrow, and you must be able to see the value in being the extra hands who can clean a fridge, hold a hand, take a walk, give a hug and give high-fives.

FOR BOTH POSITIONS

  • Thorough onboarding in the pedagogical and health-technical work in the department. You are offered mentoring, an orientation program and follow-up conversations with your immediate supervisor.
  • Opportunity for development through teaching, courses and sparring. At Bjergbo courses and continuing education in neuro-pedagogy, KRAP, etc. are offered.
  • We have a meeting planner who always tries to make the meeting plan support the balance between leisure and work. We work with an eight-week meeting plan with rotating working hours, day and evening – as well as every other weekend.
  • 37 hours – but the possibility to work less by your own choice - down to 30 hours.

SALARY AND EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

The position in House B has rotating hours (day/evening shifts, not night) and every other weekend.

The Swiss Army Knife position is shifts 11:00–21:00 and every third weekend.

Appointments are effective January 1, 2026, or earlier if possible.

Salary is set according to the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local wage formation. The specific salary range is disclosed prior to the interview. A criminal record check must be presented before employment.
