Easily Accessible Treatment Offer Professionals for Children and Adolescents in Psychological Distress

As a result of an expansion of our Easily Accessible Treatment Offer, we are seeking new colleagues for our well-functioning multidisciplinary team Easy Accessible Treatment Team (EATT). We are looking for professionals with relevant profiles who are passionate about making a difference for children and adolescents in psychological distress and their families.

You will become part of a well-functioning multidisciplinary team consisting of 12 employees with various professional backgrounds, including psychologists, family therapists and child and adolescent doctors. The team is characterized by a strong professional community, a high degree of knowledge sharing and close multidisciplinary collaboration in daily work.

Building on different professional perspectives, we work together to create holistic and effective interventions for children, adolescents and their families. The team is also characterized by engagement, a willingness to develop and a shared focus on strengthening the welfare of children and young people.

The positions are 37 hours per week with starting from 5.1.27

About us

The Children and Youth Administration consists of five departments; School, Daycare, Economy and Governance, Policy and Organization as well as Family and Prevention, including Interdisciplinary Health and Prevention (TSoF). Interdisciplinary Health and Prevention is a large multidisciplinary unit that covers both the general and specialized areas with among others health visitors, psychologists, pedagogical consultants, speech/language therapists, occupational/physiotherapists and family therapists. This is also where the Easily Accessible Treatment Offer is anchored.

Together with our multidisciplinary partners, both internally and externally, we strive for a daily life characterized by high professionalism, development and collaboration.

In the EATT team, innovation, high professionalism and multidisciplinary collaboration are highly valued. Based on solid professional knowledge as well as sparring and knowledge sharing across professions, we work to increase the well-being of children and adolescents. We work holistically and in close collaboration with families and other actors around the child or young person.

About the job

Your working field will be in the psychiatry-adjacent area and include treatment of children and adolescents with psychological distress as well as collaboration with their parents and network.

Your tasks will include, among others

  • Participation in screening interviews
  • Planning and conducting treatment courses
  • Management of group programs
  • Telephone counseling and guidance for children, adolescents and families via our pre-consultation telephone
  • Clarification and direction to other relevant offers
  • Interdisciplinary sparring with colleagues and partners
  • Contributing to the development and qualification of interventions

Treatment courses are based on evidence-based methods and include among others STIME, Cool Kids, DAT and other relevant treatment forms.

Which treatment tasks and courses you will handle will be assessed based on your professional background and competences, so that the tasks match your professional prerequisites and the needs of the child or adolescent.

Your special professional expertise is an important contribution to the team’s joint task solving. We want to bring the different professional groups’ perspectives and methods into play and further develop interventions that take into account the connection between the child’s or adolescent’s challenges, family life and daily life. You will have the opportunity to contribute to this development, where manual-based programs can be supplemented with individually tailored interventions based on a concrete professional assessment within the offer’s framework.

We are looking for professionals who are eager and capable of working with exciting, diverse and often complex tasks where both the child’s individual situation and the surrounding environment are important perspectives. The work includes both mapping of psychological issues, concrete treatment, counseling, professional sparring and follow-up on interventions. You must thrive in multidisciplinary collaboration and be keen to both develop your own professionalism and contribute to the development of the team and the offering.

We are looking for you who have one of the following professional backgrounds

  • Licensed psychologist (cand.psych. or cand.pæd.psych.)
  • Family therapist with relevant basic education, e.g., educator or social worker with relevant further education, for example family therapy training
  • Health-professional background, e.g., occupational/physiotherapist, nurse with an interest in child and adolescent psychiatry or another relevant background with experience in the field

We emphasize that you

  • Have experience working with children and adolescents and their families, preferably with experience from municipal practice and/or psychiatry.
  • Preferably have experience with children and adolescents with symptoms of ADHD and/or autism
  • Have good collaboration skills and a desire to actively contribute to multidisciplinary collaboration, knowledge sharing and joint task solving
  • Have an interest in and ability to advise, guide and collaborate with children, adolescents and their parents
  • Can work independently and navigate a sometimes busy daily life
  • Have an interest in and commitment to the psychological well-being and development of children and adolescents as well as for innovation in prevention and treatment of psychological distress
  • Preferably have experience with manual- and evidence-based treatment methods, for example STIME programs

We offer

  • A strong and well-functioning multidisciplinary community
  • A high degree of professional sparring and knowledge sharing
  • Ongoing competency development and supervision
  • The possibility to influence and further develop an important offering for children, adolescents and families
  • An workplace characterized by flexibility, commitment and high professional quality
