Dedicated teacher for the electrician education's main course 1 and 2

We are currently seeking a committed teacher for the electrician training at Syddansk Erhvervsskole in Odense. You will join an academically strong teaching team, where you will be responsible for teaching our students on main courses 1 and 2.

You will teach in one or more of the compulsory subjects on the main course

• Electrical Installations 1 – alternating current and fuses
• Electrical Installations 2 – sizing and installations
• Electrical Installations 3 – high voltage and electrification of society
• Automation and Industrial Installations 1 – motors
• Automation and Industrial Installations 2 – industrial plants
• Communication networks
• Verification and measurement technology
• Quality assurance and documentation
• Electrical safety and the working environment
• Customer service
• Innovative project work

We train electricians with a wide range of modules and specializations, and you will therefore have ample opportunity to develop your own competences as you teach. You will also bring other strengths into play, because you will experience that it is very much about communicating your subject – and here you can expect thorough introduction, sparring and strong support from your colleagues.

We collaborate to develop and deliver inspiring teaching that meets the latest industry standards and ensures that our students and apprentices are well prepared for their future careers as electricians. In addition, we work closely with companies on both vocational education, continuing education and various development projects, where you can be involved in activities around new technologies, sustainability and green transition.

We are looking for someone who

• Has a journeyman certificate as an electrician – and preferably further qualifications such as an installer or equivalent
• Has several years of relevant professional experience from the industry
• Wants to work with young people who learn in different ways
• Has the willingness and ability to apply your professional knowledge and experience in a learning perspective
• Is curious about the connection between students' social, academic and personal development, which becomes the cornerstone of your approach to young people

Experience in leading young people, e.g., as a supervisor of apprentices, voluntary coach or something else, would be a plus – but it is not a requirement. Most important is that you are up for the task!

About the employment

The position is full-time with pay and appointment according to the Ministry of Education’s regulations in a civil servant-like position. Salary is on base pay steps 1-7. Starting salary is negotiated after an assessment of, among other things, previous teaching experience. There is an 18% pension scheme.

Workplace is in Odense. Working hours are 37 hours per week on average including breaks.

If you do not already have sufficient pedagogical prerequisites, you must have obtained a Diploma in Vocational Pedagogy or the adult education teacher program within four years of employment, according to the school's assessment. The pedagogical diploma is part of the employment and takes place during working hours.
