Disability assistant wanted for a man in Eskebjerg near Kalundborg

I am a 77-year-old man who, after a fall, lives with tetraplegia. Therefore I need help with most daily tasks – from personal care to practical tasks in the home. I also use a CPAP and a cough assist machine, but it is a completely natural and routine part of my everyday life.

I live in a lovely house in Eskebjerg with my husband. The atmosphere here is warm, relaxed and often quite humorous. We like to laugh, talk about big and small things, and have a daily life where there is also room for coziness. We both love cooking – especially Thai cuisine – and enjoy being in the garden or getting out into nature when the weather allows.

I am looking for a new helper

I have had my funding extended and am therefore seeking a new permanent helper for my team.

The position consists of shifts at the following times

Odd weeks

• Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night shifts from 00:00 to 08:00

Even weeks

• Monday night shift from 00:00 to 08:00
• Friday and Saturday day shifts from 08:00 to 17:00

On average 28 hours per week.

You will of course be thoroughly trained in my routines and the tasks that come with the job.

Who are you?

I am seeking both men and women, and the most important thing for me is not your age or your educational background. The most important is that you are:

• stable and responsible
• calm and confident working independently
• bright of mind and have a good sense of humor
• respectful and understanding that you work in a private home
• non-smoker

You should be able to take responsibility and at the same time be quick with a smile. Here in the house, humor is at least as important as structure.

It is not necessary that you have prior experience as a disability caregiver. The most important is that you want the job and are prepared to learn my routines.
