Disability helper - full-time (5-6 24-hour shifts per month) - suitable for students - Skodsborg

I need a helper in a full-time position, 5-6 24-hour shifts per month, starting as soon as possible.

You must be a stable worker, very flexible and, like my other helpers, enjoy working intensively and in a condensed way, but also be able to achieve longer periods of freedom.

You must be positive and approachable of mind. You must be mature and responsible. It is necessary that you are naturally adaptable.

You will be a helper for a dynamic person whose days vary between quiet days and days with full speed across the field with activities for many hours at a time. I am a self-taught freelance journalist, but in addition to writing, I am also active in NGO, political, as well as disability-policy contexts.

The shifts follow a fixed rota, and as a rule you work 1 24-hour shift at a time, distributed on fixed shifts on weekdays and weekends, Christmas, Easter and Pentecost. Occasionally you may work several days in a row. The shifts are arranged in advance at 2 annual helper meetings, where my team allocates the shifts for 6 months at a time.

You will join a super team of 7 helpers, where flexibility and consideration are keywords, as everyone is active and may occasionally need to swap shifts. Therefore it is a great advantage if you are independent and able to step in at short notice. In addition you must be prepared to be awake several times at night due to toilet visits, as well as to cover for your colleagues' illness.

The work ranges from personal care, cleaning, secretarial work and, on festive occasions, help with mixing gin and tonics and Irish coffees. I myself am a very active and outgoing 55-year-old woman – with a very young mind and a fierce appetite for life, who lives in a rented apartment with my husband, near forest and water. My day is often hectic, filled with a wide range of activities consisting of both fun and serious. In short - follow me in my life!

Since I move around the country, it is necessary that you have a driver's license and driving experience. It would also be an advantage if you are robust by nature, and can type reasonably quickly on a keyboard. If you don’t smoke, that’s great! If you do, it happens outside on the terrace - together with my husband.
