About the job

Would you like a permanent position where you both get professional challenges, good colleagues and the opportunity to make a difference for the patients?

Then we may have the job for you.

We are looking for a medical secretary or health administrative coordinator for a permanent position at 37 hours per week in our secretariat in the Neurosurgical Department at OUH.

One of our good colleagues has chosen to pursue new paths closer to home, and therefore we now have an open position on the team. We hope it will be you who wants to take over.

Who will be your new colleagues?

You will become part of a secretariat where we emphasize collaboration, professionalism, helpfulness and a good dose of humor in daily life.

We are organized into two teams where we lift tasks together and help each other across. You will be attached to a team, but you must also be prepared that we are one secretariat, where we help each other when needed.

We have a busy and changing everyday life, but we believe it is possible to have high professionalism and good mood at the same time.

With us there is a short path from employee to manager, and we emphasize that you are heard and have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our work processes.

What will you be working with?

You will work with patient pathways within our neurosurgical subspecialties

  • Vascular neurosurgery
  • Hydrocephalus
  • Spine surgery

This means you have the opportunity to build broad professional knowledge and become an important part of the patients' journey from referral to treatment and follow-up.

Your tasks will include

  • Telephone contact with patients and collaborators
  • Reception, handling and triage of referrals
  • Booking and invitation of patients
  • Participation in conferences
  • Follow-up on waiting lists and discharge lists
  • Journal entry and discharge summaries
  • Registration and quality assurance
  • Coordination of patient pathways
  • Close collaboration with doctors, nurses and other professionals
  • Participation in the secretariat's common functions and tasks

You will also have telephone service as part of your daily life. We see this not only as an operational task, but as an important opportunity to gain insight into patients' needs and the entire department's workflows.

You will become an important piece

As a secretary with us you are much more than the one who makes the calendar add up.

You are often the one who ties the patient journey together, creates overview and ensures that things are followed through.

Therefore we need a colleague who can work independently, maintain overview when the pace picks up, and at the same time want to be part of a team.

We imagine that you

  • Are trained medical secretary or health administrative coordinator
  • Want to work with neurosurgery – experience is an advantage, but not a requirement
  • Work in a structured and independent way
  • Can prioritize when several tasks require your attention
  • Are curious and want to learn new things
  • Thrive with both patient contact and administrative tasks
  • Are approachable and service-minded
  • Contribute actively to a good working environment
  • Want to collaborate and help your colleagues
  • Have knowledge of EPJ Syd – or willingness to learn it

What can we offer you?

With us you get

✓ A permanent position of 37 hours with flexible working hours and flexitime arrangement

✓ An exciting and varied everyday life

✓ Thorough training and mentoring scheme

✓ Skilled and helpful colleagues

✓ A strong multidisciplinary collaboration

✓ Opportunity for professional development and responsibility

✓ A workplace focused on well-being and togetherness

✓ An informal everyday life, where there is room for laughter

Working hours are typically Monday-Friday from 7.30 to 16.00. However, you should expect to work until 16.00 on Wednesdays and every 6th Friday.

Could it be you we are looking for?

If you can see yourself in a daily life where professionalism, patient contact, collaboration and good collegiality go hand in hand, we would love to hear from you.

You do not need to know neurosurgery beforehand. The most important for us is that you want to learn, take responsibility for your tasks and want to become part of our secretariat.

If you have questions about the position or want to hear more about daily life with us, you are very welcome to contact the secretariat manager Christina Ursin Strandberg at tel. 21 67 60 21.

You are also very welcome to come by for a no-obligation visit. We are happy to offer a cup of coffee and show you who we are and what we do.

We expect to hold interviews on Tuesday 27.10.2026 from 16.00.

We look forward to hearing from you!
