About the job

Telecommunications infrastructure is a prerequisite for society to function – from emergency calls, emergency response and other society-critical functions to the communication of businesses and citizens. As a lawyer or generalist in the Tele Office you will have a central role in strengthening security and robustness in the Danish telecommunications infrastructure through legislation, analyses, supervision and collaboration with the sector. We are looking for a curious colleague who wants to help make a difference for Denmark's security and robustness.

About the office and the position

The Danish Agency for Safety and Emergency Preparedness (SAMSIK) is the authority for security and emergency preparedness in the telecommunication sector. In the Tele Office, where we today are 21 employees, we supervise that telecom providers comply with the requirements placed on them. We are in dialogue with the providers about risk management and security based on the threat picture in the area. We also have a central role in emergency situations, where we among other things coordinate and prioritise emergency actors' access to electronic communications.

We need one more colleague in the team for supervision, law and policy. The position is a mix between law and general case handling. You will work closely with specialists and generalists who have extensive knowledge of and understanding of the Danish telecom sector. You will become part of a strong collegial community with engaged colleagues, an informal tone and a common goal to strengthen robustness in Denmark's critical infrastructure. Our work starts from the laws and regulations that set requirements for telecom providers' security and emergency preparedness.

You can read more about our work as an authority in the telecom sector at www.samsik.dk/tele .

You will get challenges and room to develop

With us you have the opportunity to work both independently and in teams on complex tasks at the crossroads of law, supervision and policy.

In the Tele Office you should expect a workday with diverse tasks, including

  • planning and conducting supervision activities
  • contributing to legislation and legal guidelines
  • legal advice and interpretation of legislation in the telecom area
  • contribution to serving the management and the ministry
  • analytical work
  • participation in meetings with the telecom industry
  • participation in national and international fora.

You will become part of a strong professional environment where legal, technical and security perspectives go hand in hand, and where you contribute to translating authorities' work into concrete solutions that strengthen robustness in one of Denmark's most critical sectors.

You and your background are important

We imagine that you have experience working in a politically governed organization and preferably knowledge of cyber- and information security, possibly in the telecom area. You probably have a law or other social science master's degree. You may also be considered for the position if you are a recent graduate and have an interest in cyber- and information security or the telecom area and have worked with this in connection with your studies.

In addition we would like you to

  • work independently, take responsibility and follow your tasks through
  • be analytically strong and thrive on working with complex problems
  • be thorough and understand the importance of getting the detail right
  • quickly identify the key issues in complex material and clearly and actionably communicate your conclusions
  • have good collaboration skills and thrive on solving tasks in teamwork with others.

We also would like you to have strong written communication skills, as the core of our work consists in communicating knowledge about the telecom sector in writing, just as our case processing is largely written. You must be able to prepare notes, decisions, analyses and decision briefs of high quality for both internal and external stakeholders.

Salary and terms of employment

Employment and remuneration are in accordance with the then applicable collective agreement between the state and Academics (AC agreement), and placement may, depending on experience, be as a clerk or senior consultant.

Employment area is the Ministry for Safety and Emergency Preparedness. It is a condition of employment that you can be security cleared to the classification level SECRET and maintain the security clearance throughout your employment.

The position is a permanent full-time position and to be filled as soon as possible.

The workplace will for now be Holsteinsgade 63, 2100 Copenhagen Ø. The agency also has an office in Birkerød.
