Business Controlling Section 2 is part of the Defence Command’s Finance and Operations Staff. In our staff element we work closely with the leadership and staff functions of the Navy Command and the Defence Staff, where we contribute budgets, financial management and qualified advice. Our task is to ensure financial overview and create a solid basis for decisions, so that the Navy and the Defence Staff can carry out their operational tasks effectively and responsibly.

About the position

As an accounting employee you will be an important part of the daily financial support to the Defence Staff leadership. You will primarily work with the financial management information in the Defence Staff, which should give the management a clear overview of the finances and support sound decisions.

You will become a central team player in the work with budgets and forecasts. This means that you contribute to the preparation of budgets and ongoing forecasts, monitor consumption against the limits and help the management see where the finances are moving. In addition, there is reconciliation of frameworks, financial analyses and ongoing coordination with both colleagues internally in the element and other parts of the Defence Staff.

The position gives you a varied daily life with responsibility for your own tasks and close cooperation with colleagues in the element. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference because your forecasts and analyses are used directly as the basis for management decisions.

About you

You have either an academic degree, or you are economically educated/office trained with solid experience from similar financial work. Regardless of background, you are ready to take on a job consisting of a number of financial and coordinating tasks, which span widely in both complexity and scope.

You have experience with forecasting and forecasting and have previously worked with finance, for example budgeting, financial management, follow-up or financial analyses. You are comfortable translating numbers into overview and can clearly communicate financial relationships to both professional colleagues and leaders without an economic background.

You have experience coordinating and directing task execution, collaboration and ensuring progress, while keeping a cool head. For us, your approach and practical experience are more important than the length of your CV or the title of your education. Therefore, it is important that you work in a structured way, take ownership and have a natural desire to create order and overview. At the same time you thrive with collaboration and meet others with a positive and service-minded attitude, because you know that good solutions rarely come alone.

You are familiar with Excel and the Office suite and preferably have an interest in public finances. If you have knowledge of the Defence, that is a plus but not a requirement.

Employment terms

If you are an academic, you are employed in accordance with the then applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).

If you have an office education or another relevant education you are employed in accordance with the then applicable Joint Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organization – The State Sector (OAO-S Joint Agreement) and the organizational agreement for office clerks, lab technicians and IT staff.

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is a possibility of negotiating supplements. The position is tied to an employer-financed pension scheme.

The workplace is in Karup J

As an employee under the Defence Ministry’s area you are subject to some special terms. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment period.

As an employee you are obliged to perform service outside the country's borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, humanitarian and other similar operations.
