About the job

Tests and examinations are important milestones in students' education. In a time where artificial intelligence and new digital possibilities are changing the framework for tests and examinations, it is more important than ever to ensure high quality and a professional conduct. It requires both secure operation, attention to detail and the ability to handle challenges when they arise.

Would you like to take responsibility for ensuring that tests and examinations in primary school and upper secondary school function in practice, and at the same time contribute to the development of the tests of the future? Then you may be one of our new colleagues in the Office for Tests, Examinations and Assessments.

About the tasks

The test and examination area has great attention from politicians, institutions and students. We actively work to develop the administration of tests so that we can meet the wishes and requirements that are placed on us. We are busy with large development tasks and important operational tasks, and therefore we are looking for two new colleagues who can contribute in our office.

One position will primarily be linked to tests in upper secondary schools and will, among other things, have the following tasks:

  • project management of the censor meeting, where the written examiners meet and vote on the answer sheets
  • responsibility for the tests in selected subjects, including coordination across internally within the agency
  • dialogue with the item commissions with a view to production of the written tasks
  • contribute to test administration in the test terms
  • contribute to development tasks in the upper secondary area, including in relation to AI in tests.

The other position will primarily be linked to tests in primary school and will, among other things, have the following tasks:

  • development of primary school tests, including in connection with subject plans
  • contribute to the administration and development of the annual tests in primary school in collaboration with task commissions and schools
  • structure and drive larger development projects.

Common to the positions is that you will also come to

  • contribute to effective and targeted guidance of schools and examiners
  • contribute to structured implementation of political agreements
  • assist the minister and management in supporting our leadership, including contributing to effective support for the major ongoing political agendas
  • contribute to answering questions from the Parliament and the press
  • cooperate with our other group, including the Ministry of Education's department and the Agency for IT and Learning as well as other partners and researchers and experts in the test and education area.

In the office we work across the board with tests, examinations and assessments, so you should expect to take on tasks that also relate to other educational areas than respectively upper secondary schools and primary schools. You will become part of a team, but you can expect that in connection with some tasks you will work across teams.

We take pride in ensuring that all students and examinees get high-quality tests, and that the tests are conducted safely and professionally. It is a focus for us to develop our task execution so that it is efficient, and we therefore actively work with process optimization.

About you

We are looking for two AC employees who have a relevant higher education, e.g., cand.scient.pol.

We expect that you

  • are structured and systematic
  • are able to work independently
  • are proactive and focused on process optimization so you can actively contribute to smoother workflows
  • are a skilled and thorough communicator in writing, as we are a very written office
  • want to work with tests.

About the Office for Tests, Examinations and Assessments

You will be employed in the Office for Tests, Examinations and Assessments, which has overall responsibility for tests, examinations and assessments across all education areas under the Ministry of Education, i.e. primary school, upper secondary schools, vocational education, adult education and FGU.

Our office is organised in three teams, but we solve tasks across teams and in close collaboration within the office. We consist of about 30 employees with different professional backgrounds, and we work with tools and processes that support exam and assessment administration, including several different IT systems. We work closely with the other offices in the directorate to ensure coherence between tests and teaching. We have a close collaboration with the Agency for IT and Learning (STIL) regarding IT solutions in the test area and about conducting tests.

We have a good collaboration in the office and an informal tone – it should be professionally rewarding and enjoyable to go to work. We place emphasis on being fair and helpful to each other in a social collegial environment, both within the office and in our broad collaboration across the group. At the same time we prioritise strong professional collaboration with ongoing sparring, where we help each other and engage in making a difference for the education sector.
