About the job

Can you see opportunities for energy improvements where others only see a building? Are you motivated to translate technical knowledge into solutions that can be felt in everyday life? At Copenhagen Business Academy (EK) you will play a central role in creating energy-efficient, sustainable and well-functioning environments for students and staff.

The job

As an energy consultant in Service and Properties you will have a varied everyday life, where you get close to buildings and technical installations and have time for analysis, documentation and advice. Your recommendations should not just end up in a report. They must be translated into solutions that strengthen the buildings’ quality, support more sustainable operation and create better conditions for those who use them every day.

You will become part of Service and Properties and at the same time part of a large educational organization with many skilled and experienced colleagues. We place emphasis on professionalism, responsibility, knowledge sharing and cross-disciplinary collaboration. The tone is informal, and there is room for different perspectives, professional discussions and new ideas. We do not expect that you only state how things are. We hope you are curious about how they can become better.

Your key tasks

  • prepare energy labels and energy labeling reports with relevant and applicable improvement proposals
  • review buildings and technical installations and document their energy-related and building-technical conditions
  • conduct inspections and prepare condition reports
  • carry out building-technical surveys and provide advice
  • identify, prioritise and communicate possibilities for energy improvements and more sustainable operation
  • collaborate with colleagues and relevant stakeholders to translate analyses into concrete solutions
  • take on other related tasks depending on your competences and interests.

The position gives you the opportunity to bring your own expertise into play and to help develop the way EK works with energy, building quality and sustainable operation.

Your background and competences

Your educational path is not the most important. What matters is that you understand buildings, energy and the needs of the people who use them. You could for example have a background as a craftsman, building constructor, energy technologist or the equivalent.

It is an advantage if you are already a licensed energy consultant. If you are not, we expect that you are motivated and have the professional prerequisites to obtain the license.

  • You have experience with energy labeling of buildings or other relevant energy-technical tasks, so you can quickly translate observations and data into usable recommendations.
  • You have knowledge of applicable rules and the Building Regulations’ requirements and can apply them safely in practice.
  • You work in a structured manner, document your work and take responsibility for getting tasks safely to completion.
  • You can work independently and at the same time see the value in sparring, sharing knowledge and coordinating with colleagues.
  • You communicate clearly orally and in writing and can make complex technical issues understandable for people without the same professional background.
  • You have a driving license for category B.

Most importantly, you are eager to ask constructive questions about the existing and find solutions that make technical, energy-related and user-sense.
