About the job
Do you want to help strengthen the Armed Forces' operational capabilities within Electronic Warfare?
If that sounds like something for you, you now have the opportunity to become a case handler at the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (FMI).
About us
The Capability Center Electronic Warfare forms part of four capability centers.
You will be part of a highly specialized team of 12 employees, both military and civilian, with diverse professional backgrounds and competencies. We work closely together on tasks, share our knowledge and use each other’s competencies across disciplines.
We are responsible for procurement, implementation, operation and development of the armed forces’ land-based Electronic Warfare capabilities.
The Defence is rapidly developing, which means a short path from idea to action, giving you good opportunities to influence both task solving and the center’s development. Our daily work is characterized by high professionalism, close collaboration and professional sparring. The working environment focuses on good relationships, community and, not least, humor.
The Capability Center is located in a separate office area with its own laboratory to support our tasks. In addition, a test and measurement facility has been established so we can verify that what we do behaves as expected.
About the position
As an engineer in the Capability Center you will
- join our team for technical case handling of manned and vehicle-integrated systems, including intelligence gathering and force protection technologies
- plan and conduct meetings with suppliers, system houses, and national and international partners, including market analyses and assessment of new Electronic Warfare technologies
- perform technical/professional assessment of suppliers' solutions with respect to user requirements and active participation in the procurement process for new capabilities
- oversee planning, organization and execution of the Capability Center's activities within Electronic Warfare, including participation in our planned tests and measurements at system houses and in the field
- oversee the operation of existing capabilities, in close cooperation with our operative partners
- be an active part of our study and development group, with participation in our test and measurement tasks
- after hiring, receive the necessary further training in the systems you will be responsible for
The position involves about 40 travel days per year in Denmark and abroad. The travels vary from short trips of 1-3 days to occasional stays of 2-3 weeks.
About you
We expect you to be a trained engineer, for example in wireless communication, and to be motivated to work with complex systems.
You are an engineer with experience, possibly newly graduated, from one or more of the following areas:
Measurement on radio systems, antenna installations, RF metrology, understanding of RF systems and modulation forms, construction of test equipment and integration of technical systems.
Knowledge of SAP/DeMars is an advantage.
You have a strong technical profile with a desire and ability to immerse yourself in the disciplines and to strengthen the Capability Center with your engineering expertise.
You work in a structured way, are thorough with a holistic approach to task solving and have the ability to maintain an overview.
You are able to independently handle large and complex cases, but will also participate in team collaboration with other colleagues.
You can express yourself clearly in writing and speaking in both Danish and English. Experience with international collaboration is an advantage.
It is advantageous if you have a Category B driving license and possibly experience from the area.
Terms of employment
The employment is governed by the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).
Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is an opportunity to negotiate a supplement. The position is attached to an employer-financed pension scheme.
The workplace is in Ballerup.
As an employee under the Ministry of Defence, you are subject to certain special terms. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout your employment.
You as an employee have an obligation to perform service outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peace enforcement, humanitarian and other similar operations.
