Engstrandskolen seeks a Kindergarten Class Assistant

Do you want to work in a strong year-group team where close collaboration, community and children's well-being go hand in hand?

At Engstrandskolen we are looking for a kindergarten class assistant who is passionate about creating high well-being and good learning environments for the school's youngest students. We are a school with a strong focus on collaboration, both in daily teaching, in shared activities in the year group and in the close interaction between school and SFO (after-school care).

At Engstrandskolen we believe that children learn and develop best in safe communities where relationships, curiosity and participation are at the center. Therefore we work in the early years with flexible organization, where classes and students are part of a larger year-group community and encounter varied learning environments through project work, workshop-style teaching and joint activities. Our teaching draws on the children's different prerequisites, and we plan learning pathways that provide opportunities for both immersion, movement, creativity and strong opportunities for participation for all children.

We place great emphasis on the collaboration among the professionals around the children. Therefore, kindergarten class leaders, assistants and pedagogues work closely together on planning, implementation and evaluation of the teaching. We see diversity in staff competencies as a strength and believe that shared responsibility, professional sparring and a high degree of collaboration create the best conditions for children's well-being and learning. In our kindergarten classes there are two adults present all school day, for students from 8:15 to 13:00.

About Engstrandskolen

Engstrandskolen is a school with around 500 students. We are a department-partitioned school with an SFO and two divisions, grades 0-5 and 6-9. We also have a sports line from 7th to 9th grade.

Expectations for our new kindergarten class assistant

• You may be a trained educator, but it is not a requirement
• Experience with working in a kindergarten class is an advantage
• Can work in a structured and systematic way with the students' academic curiosity and personal development
• Ambitious on the students' behalf
• Includes and prioritizes movement and creative activities
• Sees parental collaboration as a valuable resource and is good at communicating in writing and speaking
• Motivated and engaged in team collaboration and prepared for planning and organizing activities across the year group and in the department.

The practical

• The position is a permanent appointment of between 31 and 35 hours
• Appointment from January 1, 2027
• Salary according to the applicable collective agreement
